		<description>Media Glutton said: &quot;I think make him a far weaker opponent than McCain.&quot;

Agreed.

jadegold said: &quot;Actually, Romney may be the toughest to beat in that he can raise serious money.&quot;

megamoze said: &quot;Romney is the one to be afraid of. Pandering works and money talks and Romney has both by the assload.&quot;

Actually, he doesn&#039;t have a whole lot of money. He&#039;s already spent more than 10% of his total wealth, and the primaries are not over. He would have to spend more than $50 million of his own money just to keep up with Clinton. I don&#039;t think he is willing to do that.

Colorado Dave said: &quot;The stakes are high and I am afraid that Hilary and Barack are going to get their asses handed to them.&quot;

This is why I think Hillary has the best chance to win, she&#039;s a fighter. She won&#039;t be stunned by a dirty trick by the Republicans.

		<description>I wish I had your confidence Oliver.

I distinctly remember thinking America would never elect a hack Grade-B movie actor only to see this country flock to Ronald Reagan.

I distinctly remember thinking America would never elect the idiot son of a mediocre caretaker president only to see this country elect (not once but twice) George W. Bush.

I think the American electorate is perfectly capable of choosing Huckabee or Romney or Guiliani or Thompson or even Gingrich as its president. The stakes are high and I am afraid that Hilary and Barack are going to get their asses handed to them.

		<description>Yes, I&#039;ve always believed Giuliani&#039;s candidacy wasn&#039;t serious--he was in the race to further his business interests.

Actually, Romney may be the toughest to beat in that he can raise serious money.

But this is an extraordinarily weak GOP field.

McCain simply is too old and tired to muster the energy he did 7 years ago. That, and the fact most GOPers can&#039;t stand him.

		<description>C.S., I initially agreed with you, but Giuliani&#039;s private-sector corruption, ties to Bernie Kerik, questionable familial ethics, etc., I think make him a far weaker opponent than McCain. Luckily for us, neither looks to be winning in any of the first couple primary states. So I guess Romney will be the Republican sacrificial lamb?

		<description>I agree with you on McCain, but I think Giuliani is a tougher opponent than Romney, Huckabee, or Thompson.

Giuliani is a bully, and most people still see him as the Hero of 9/11. So he earns a lot of votes from the Scared Shitless demographic, which is still rather large.
