Still, it's interesting to note that there are some areas of overlap between the two, i.e. the notion that we are vessels for some collection of cosmic spirits. The absurd notion that this was "Romney's JFK speech" really burns my toast, though. Kennedy was 100% clear when he called for an absolute separation between church and state. Good 'ol Mitt fell all over himself to accommodate the Christian wingers, asserting that America has to have religion or it isn't really free ("no freedom without religion") and that those dirty traitorous secularists are trying to tear down all other religions and supplant them with their own Godless dogma ("It is as if they're intent on establishing a new religion in America – the religion of secularism. They're wrong,"). Don't forget the secular war on Christmas, Mitt. Time to get Bill O' on the phone.
