Iran & The Bomb

Questions swirl.

A new assessment by American intelligence agencies concludes that Iran halted its nuclear weapons program in 2003 and that the program remains on hold, contradicting an assessment two years ago that Tehran was working inexorably toward building a bomb.

The assessment, a National Intelligence Estimate that represents the consensus view of all 16 American spy agencies, states that Tehran’s ultimate intentions about gaining a nuclear weapon remain unclear, but that Iran’s “decisions are guided by a cost-benefit approach rather than a rush to a weapon irrespective of the political, economic and military costs.”

But I thought Iran was building the nuke that they plan to use on Israel to usher in Armageddon and the return of God and the rapture? Now I’m going to have to rejigger my whole schedule.

Gee, can anyone think of something that happened in 2003 that might have had an effect on Iran’s quest for arms? Anyone remember what might have had a deleterious effect on their pursuit of a nuclear program?!? Hmmm…..

It must have been the release of Bad Boys 2 in 2003, because only an idiot would think that invading the wrong country leading to the death of thousands was something for Iran to freak out about and stop their nuke program.

Why would Iran stop pursuing nuclear arms because of the U.S. invasion of Iraq? As has been painfully clear for some time now, the way to get your ass invaded is to not have any weapons of mass destruction.
