Thomas Kean: Worthless Endorsement?

One of today’s campaign stories is that 9/11 commission co-chair and former NJ governor Thomas Kean has endorsed John McCain. There are always arguments about the value of endorsements (I don’t buy the narrative that Gore’s endorsement of Dean hurt him, nor that it helped) but in the case of Kean we’ve got recent history. Just last year he endorsed his own son in his home state for the job of senator, and his son got his butt kicked. What use is an endorsement if you push your own flesh and blood on your home turf and it falls flat?
