Chuck Todd And The Politics Of Duh
Tweet
NBC’s political director Chuck Todd attacks Media Matters for alleged favoritism of Sen. Clinton over the other Democratic candidates… then excises all the critiques of his co-worker Tim Russert that reflected b.s. concocted against Obama and Edwards by NBC (like this one where Russert hatchets an Obama quote to get one of his lame gotchas).
Not that I like to talk about it, but I find these accusations mentally deficient at best. MM covers the media and conservative misinformation in it. As such, coverage is going to be equivalent to what the press chooses to focus on. Is anyone going to argue in a sane way that the press covers any other pol save President Bush as much as they do the Clintons? And its not as if there isn’t mountains of coverage about the media misrepresenting people like Sen. Obama, Sen. Edwards, Al Gore, Harry Reid, and on and on while carrying water for Bush, Rove, DeLay, Giuliani, Romney, etc.
It’s all there in light grey and white, why does the political director for a major news organization play idiot like this?
And then they wonder why specifically among progressives – who in the past tended to trust the press more than conservatives, are so distrustful of the mainstream media.
Ironically if you go to the Media Matters home page right now, right below the Todd story are two items about media coverage of that member of the Clinton family, Barack Obama.
