The Tired World Of Journalism
Tweet
The offender that set this entry off is the NY Times’ Gail Collins, but the main criminal here is CNN’s Wolf Blitzer who, at every shot he gets, uses some idiotic Vegas cliche to discuss tomorrow’s Democratic debate.
They’re going to roll the dice, put all the chips in, go for broke, whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, etc. ad infinitum.
I expect these sorts of eye rolling cliches from John Madden doing Sunday Night Football. But he’s John Madden, talking about what is on the cosmic scale of things, a diversion of inconsequence. As opposed to, you know, choosing the next leader of the free world.

News is nothing but idiotic cliches. That or repeating the same phrase till the people start believing it. There’s almost no real journalism left.
