Typical behavior from MM. Pick a few words and highlight those hoping no one will read the transcript. And when they do, they find MM distorted what the person said. Matthews doesn’t endorse McCain, he just said IF he were president, he would “deserve” it for his service.
Also — lets ignore the part where Matthews also says he likes Richardson and Biden, both ardent liberals.
Who said Matthews endorsed McCain? I’m honestly asking – who said that? Because you just made that up. Yes, MM is clearly deceptive by printing a transcript of what Matthews said and also including video of it. We’re dastardly that way. And Matthews only said one person “deserve[s]” to be president – McCain. Imagine of anyone in the media had said Hillary Clinton “deserve[d]” to be president? You would be freaking out.
Er, Oliver, so you don’t think a military record is a good reason for someone to be President?
I watch Keith Olberman tell me why Bush shouldn’t be President every night.
The Presidency isn’t wingnut welfare. Nobody _deserves_ it.
Ian said: “Er, Oliver, so you don’t think a military record is a good reason for someone to be President?”
Huhn? I must have missed the part where Oliver actually said that.
There must be voices in Ian’s head. Either that or he just likes making things up.
What are you talking about? I’m asking a question.
Liberals never answer questions … they like to distract from the situation at hand.
Seriously, is there some point where stupidity becomes fatal? I’m only asking because I worry for Ian’s future.
As for Matthews ridiculous assertion that serving in the military means somehow that you’ve earned the right to sit in the oval office, well, what else can I say except it’s ridiculous. It’s not the fact that you served, it’s how you served, and if that service can be counted upon as an indication of your character and ability to lead. McCain’s service is predominantly colored by his time spent as a POW. Unfortunately, the past few years have seen McCain throw any points he may have earned for his ordeal out the window by effectively endorsing the torture administration. I guess that doesn’t count to beltway douche extraordinaire Chris Matthews. His throw aways for Biden and Richardson come off like a half-assed attempt to appear balanced before going on to kiss McCain’s arse.
Ian: “What are you talking about? I’m asking a question.”
No, you are using a Cavuto.
Ian: “Liberals never answer questions … they like to distract from the situation at hand.”
Shut the fuck up. Your question was a distraction, you hypocrite.
Seriously, is there some contest here to see which right-winger can be the biggest ‘tard?
“The Presidency isn’t wingnut welfare. Nobody _deserves_ it.”
Winner.
So I wonder why CS is so angry all the time and then I look at his website. Star Wars and Jennifer Love Hewitt. That explains it.
Ian,
Nobody answers your questions because they are stupid. There are 23.7 million military veterans in the United States. Many of those served with equal or greater distinction than McCain. Not all of them will get an opportunity to be president. None of them deserve it merely for their military service. Matthews is a tool for even suggesting that they do. You are a tool for not understanding these simple things.

As opposed to Republican’ts putting words into progressive blogger’s mouths, and quoting things they never said?
Or as opposed to Republican’ts who, when they have been shown to be putting words into progressive blogger’s mouths, ask a different question, equally meaningless to the debate at hand, while putting more words into progressive blogger’s mouths?
If Reich wing morans had enough brain cells to realize what’s going on in the situation at hand, we wouldn’t be in quite so much of a clusterCheney these days.
Smarter Rush Limbaugh cabana boys please…
Didn’t John Kerry deserve it, Ian?
