Sen. Clinton is only 8% behind Fred Thompson in Tennessee. What if Giuliani is the GOP candidate – could he do as well as Thompson, whose home state is Tenn.?

    Fred Thompson can’t win the nomination. He’s too far back in the national polls and doesn’t have a commanding lead in any of the early states.

    And without Fred Thompson, the GOP will have to spend money to defend Tennessee, money they don’t have.
