The religious right doesn’t care about ending the war in Iraq, increasing care for our wounded veterans. No, sir, they’re really upset because our men and women in uniform might… buy erotica!

Dozens of religious and anti-pornography groups have complained to Congress and Defense Secretary Robert Gates that a Pentagon board set up to review magazines and films is allowing sales of material that Congress intended to ban.

“They’re saying ‘we’re not selling stuff that’s sexually explicit’ … and we say it’s pornography,” says Donald Wildmon, head of the American Family Association, a Christian anti-pornography group. A letter-writing campaign launched Friday by opponents of the policy aims to convince Congress to “get the Pentagon to obey the law,” he adds.

And of course, wasting the seat given to him by the people of Maryland, our state’s scourge, Roscoe G. Bartlett is sticking his nose into the military bedroom.

Rep. Roscoe Bartlett, R-Md., who sponsored the law, says the military is skirting Congress’ intent. He notes the material also could contribute to a hostile environment for female military personnel. “If soldiers want to read that stuff, they can walk down the street and buy it somewhere else,” Bartlett says. “I don’t want (the military) to help.”

Remember folks, if a military man or woman gets shot at, that’s not the problem. It’s the possibility that they may buy the Girls of The SEC issue.

If anything our service members probably have a right to free porn. (via)

    Yes. We need to remember that these folks are America’s Fifth Column. They don’t give a damn about terrorism — they just want to use it or whatever happens for their own agenda. And that agenda includes keeping American soldiers from whacking off.

    If you haven’t read it, pick up a copy of Wilhelm Reich’s “THE MASS PSYCHOLOGY OF FASCISM.” Its comments on how fascist regimes control natural sexuality are enlightening.

    But OW, if a soldier looks at naughty pictures and then um, wastes his little soul-bearing swimmers before they’re born as people, it’s just like terrorism, isn’t it?
