The Right Wing Is Going To Cause “President Hillary Clinton” To Happen

The way they act, they sure don’t act like it’s their nightmare. In fact, the right so regularly goes overboard versus the Clintons, and Sen. Clinton specifically, it’s almost as if they’re cheering for her. Today’s crazy is being fueled by serial goat-lover Mickey Kaus, claiming that Sen. Clinton is having a lesbian affair. Now, of course, this is one of the right’s oldest attacks on Clinton, but I guess everything old is new again.

Is there anything that the right hasn’t accused the Clintons of? Rape, murder, drug running, real estate scams, tax fraud, on and on and on. All disproven, all laughed out of courts of law. The one thing they ever got was when President Clinton handed them a personal failing. And even that they screwed up by making it a constitutional crisis!

The right’s problem with the Clintons, with Sen. Clinton, is that when they are presented with some half-ass “smoking gun” they can’t contain themselves. They’re so ready to play gotcha, they allowed that whole gang of Arkansas crazies to string ‘em on and on and on (you can read about it in detail in The Hunting Of The President – the book, not the movie which sucked).

And at the end of the day, what will be the net effect? The Republican party, already staggering around drunk, will once again be seen as the party of psychos and fruitcakes, nutjobs and whackos. The American people already think you’re incompetent buffoons who shouldn’t be running a Dairy Queen let alone a military and a disaster management agency, but the constant overreach versus the Clintons will make them think your nuts.

In the tradition of conservatives offering liberals advice they didn’t ask for, I say…

Keep it up.

I have always believed that the Clintons have a deal whereby he is allowed to fool around with other woman and so is she, but I would support them even if it weren’t true.

Why wouldn’t they want a democratic president? Once (insert whatever Democrat wins here) wins the presidency, the right wing will go into furious overdrive blaming the war, economy, etc on the new president, then swoop in after the one term telling voters they need a change. And it will probably work.

If Republicans win, they will not be able to run from the past 8 years. If they lose, they will do an amazing job of blaming the last 8 years on Hillary/Obama/Edwards.

OW, have you seen a pic of the staffer implicated in the rumored/alleged affair?
At least Hillary would have good taste in women, were this true.

  4. SaveFarris says:

Which article are you reading? Nowhere in Kaus’s original piece is Hillary mentioned or even hinted at. Backtracing through the links, it’s Luke Ford that appears to be the first to try and tie it to Hillary.

Sooo, this is like Oprah and Gail? Who gives a shit?
Personally I hope it’s true, just so Mickey Kaus will be right about something.

I’m no big Hillary fan, but I’m at a loss to understand what Hillary has ever done to stoke this Hillary Derangement Syndrome on the right.

Her biggest blunder was voting for a war that THEY support! If anything, I don’t really get why she’s as popular as she is among Democrats.

As first lady she tried to get involved in policy. As a women, she tried to lead.

    They have never forgiven her.

I think it’s all of that, and I think it’s also a little bit that she stood by her husband when he cheated on her. She refused to be another weapon for the GOP to use against Bill politically.

I think that’s another issue that have with her.

I don’t think it’s any of those things. Liddy Dole involved herself in policy and they lionized her. Likewise Vittor’s wife for sticking by her douche bag husband even after she promised to cut his dick off if he ever strayed.

She’s a powerful DEMOCRAT. They vilify her the way they vilify her husband, Nancy Pelosi, et al. It’s nothing but the “D” next to her name. That’s the only consistent reasoning I can think of.
