Bill Clinton Tells 9/11 Truthers To Go To Hell

About time somebody told them.

(By the way, when will the mainstream media ask Ron Paul about his support of the 9/11 truthers, going so far as to have his press guy make regular appearance on “9/11 Truth” leader Alex Jones’ radio show? Just askin’.)

  1. I bet there is almost no one who works in demolitions who deals with controlled implosions of buildings who thinks 9/11 was an inside job and the towers were taken down by controlled implosion.

  2. Jay says:

About time? Uh, there’s been plenty of people telling these loons and the ‘Loose Change’ crackpots to take a flying leap for the longest time now.

Of course, it wasn’t until the ‘truthers’ started to imply Democratic complicity in 9/11 that Democrats started standing up and tell these morons to get lost.

You guys had your head so far up Cindy Sheehan’s rear that you either ignored or didn’t care that she’s a 9/11 ‘truther’ and why not? She was getting the hate on for President Bush and that trumps everything.

  3. Of course, it wasn’t until the ‘truthers’ started to imply Democratic complicity in 9/11 that Democrats started standing up and tell these morons to get lost.

Yeah, um, you just made that up.

  4. “Of course, it wasn’t until the ‘truthers’ started to imply Democratic complicity in 9/11 that Democrats started standing up and tell these morons to get lost.”

Is lying a hobby to you, or is it a compulsion?

You’re credibility here is so low, I don’t know why you bother posting?

You could say the sky is blue and I would have to go outside to check before I’d believe you.

    You have become Frank.

Congratulations, you’re a waste of pixels.

  5. Jay says:

Oliver, if you can point me to where there is any serious rebuke from prominent Democratic/liberal politicians, talking heads, etc (not some half-assed blogger either) to the ’9/11 truth’ movement, I’ll happily say I was wrong and apologize.

    Until then, my comment stands.

Like I said, guys like you were happily defending Cindy Sheehan despite the fact that she’s part of the ‘truth’ movement. I never saw anybody telling her to “go to hell” then.

  6. You’ve already backpedaled from complicity to a serious rebuke. Please stop making this up, its embarrassing.

  7. Jay says:

Huh? I think you misread my comment. I said when the 9/11 truth squad “started to imply Democratic complicity in 9/11″ (whether it be in coordination or cover-up afterwards) is when guys like Bill Clinton stood up and said, “Go to hell.”

As long as the ‘truthers’ were fingering the Bush administration, I didn’t see any Democrats standing up and saying “Go to hell”

Where was Bill Clinton or any other prominent Democrat when crap like ‘Loose Change’ was garnering so much attention?

  8. Zython says:

Like I said, guys like you were happily defending Cindy Sheehan despite the fact that she’s part of the ‘truth’ movement. I never saw anybody telling her to “go to hell” then.

You have a link verifying this. A comment from her maybe?

  9. duros62 says:

if you can point me to where there is any serious rebuke from prominent Democratic/liberal politicians, blah, blah, blah…

Up to now we’ve been pretty content to just ignore them, like wasps outside the window. It’s when they get in the house that action is needed.

Did you catch Bill Maher tossing a couple off his show last week?

  10. duros62 says:

As long as the ‘truthers’ were fingering the Bush administration, I didn’t see any Democrats standing up and saying “Go to hell”

    I was.

  11. Jay says:

Up to now we’ve been pretty content to just ignore them, like wasps outside the window. It’s when they get in the house that action is needed.

    Thanks. Finally, some candor.

No big deal in saying, “Yeah we didn’t go at them until they started messing with us.”

But this “About time somebody told them” stuff doesn’t fly considering there have been plenty of people telling them to stuff it for quite some time now.

  12. duros62 says:

No, that isn’t what I’m saying.
They are annoying pests who deserve to be swatted down. I’ve always felt that way. Same with the moon landing hoaxers (my uncle among them).
But now they seem to be everywhere, and regardless of “who they go after,” they have become more annoying than we can stand.

  13. Jay says:

Duros, they’ve been ‘everywhere’ for the last few years. Look at this Wikipedia article. These nutcases have been all over.

Their goal from the outset has been to prove that the US government either planned and coordinated the attacks themselves or purposely allowed them to happen in order to further some kind of agenda.

Al Gore was asked about the whole 9/11 Truth nonsense and the best he could do was say such things were “outside the realm of possibility.” Why not say, “Those people are idiots”?

My view is, as long as most of the accusations were being thrown at ‘Il Dulce’ Bush and his band of fascists, then they were content to simply ignore it.

  14. duros62 says:

Why not say, “Those people are idiots”?

Because he’s a politician and a certain amount of sensitivity and diplomacy, even when dealing with lunatics, is apropos.

My view is, as long as most of the accusations were being thrown at ‘Il Dulce’ Bush and his band of fascists, then they were content to simply ignore it.

    They who?

My response is, and has always been, name me one thing the Bush administration has gotten right so far. Is it really feasible that they could pull something like that off secretly? Not a chance. And besides, if the government did it to sell war with Iraq, why use Saudis? why not implicate Iraq explicitly?

Occam’s Razor. Cuts like a knife.

  15. Jay says:

    They who?

Ok. Let’s go back to the beginning shall we?

    Oliver writes:

Bill Clinton Tells 9/11 Truthers To Go To Hell

    and then:

    About time somebody told them

    1. Prominent conservative/Republican talking heads, pundits and politicians have been telling these loons for years to “make like a tree and get outta here.” (Biff from ‘Back To The Future’ reference)

    2. This is the first time I have heard a Democrat of any prominence really call out these idiots with such forcefulness and it is a good thing.

    3. But President Clinton is also a little late for the party. My view is that ‘they’ (ie prominent politicians, figures, etc) have been content to merely ignore the 9/11 Truthers because the accusations of a grand government conspiracy with regard to 9/11 were largely being thrown at President Bush and those in his administration. Now that fingers at being pointed at Democrats, they’re (like Bill Clinton) speaking up.

Now, I could be wrong. But I don’t think I am.

  16. duros62 says:

Nah. I think you are. It’s all bullshit, no matter which direction they’re flinging it.

  17. Al Gore says it’s outside of the realm of possibility, but clearly in Jay’s ads that’s a tacit endorsement of their conspiracy theory. Only in the head of a conservative.

  18. megamoze says:

Jay is a liar and dissembler, pure and simple. Note the ever-changing goal posts:

“Oliver, if you can point me to where there is any serious rebuke from prominent Democratic/liberal politicians”

Al Gore says that it’s “outside the realm of possibility.”

Sounds pretty definitive to me. But that rebuke is suddenly not good enough. Now it has to worded EXACTLY the way Jay says: “Why not say, “Those people are idiots”?”

Then after acknowledging that no less a prominent Democrat than Al Gore addressed the claims of the Truthers with utter dismissal, he adds:

“Then they were content to simply ignore it.”

    It can’t be both.

  19. Zython says:

So no links to Sheehan being a truther, then? Now what did we learn today, Jay? That’s right! Don’t say things that you can’t back up. And what do we call people who say things that are false? That’s right, liars. And who’s a liar? That’s right, you’re a liar.

  20. Jay says:

Oh. I didn’t realize “it’s outside the realm of possibility” is any kind of serious rebuke. Oh and his soft words only came on the heels of being interviewed and asked the question. I mean, hell don’t hold back Al! Whoa Daddy! Go easy on them!

    Hilarious.

That’s right! Don’t say things that you can’t back up. And what do we call people who say things that are false? That’s right, liars. And who’s a liar? That’s right, you’re a liar.

You know what Zython? You should stop hanging with people like CS. Know why? He’s a blithering idiot and you calling me a liar because you’re too lazy to use a search engine makes you a blithering idiot.

Since you’re a blithering idiot and obviously cannot employ the use of a search engine, I’ll do the work for your lazy ass for you:

Cindy Sheehan: Twin Towers’ Collapse Looked Like Controlled Demolition

Anti-war icon Cindy Sheehan has gone public on her support for the 9/11 truth movement after she told a radio show that the collapse of the twin towers looked like a controlled demolition and that there should be a new investigation into the terrorist attacks.

It astounds me that you people can’t just admit it and say, “Yeah, you know what? We’ve gone easy on these people.” Is that so hard?

    I guess it is.

  21. megamoze says:

It astounds me that you people can’t just admit it and say, “Yeah, you know what? We’ve gone easy on these people.” Is that so hard?

Shorter Jay: “Gee, why don’t you guys just admit to to my lies and bullshit about you? Is that so hard?”

I don’t recall a lot of right-wingers making a point to forcefully rebuke the conspiracy nuts who claimed that the government had tanks that shot flames throwers at the Branch Davidians in Waco. Or that Vince Foster’s death was ordered by Hilary Clinton. On the contrary, many prominent conservatives have peddled these theories themselves.

I’d be willing to wager that far fewer liberals believe the 9-11 conspiracy than there are right-wingers who believe that Hilary had Vince Foster killed.

I guess as long as the nutters are criticizing the Clintons, it’s okay, right? And only when whacky nut jobs start criticizing Bush do you grow your phony righteous indignation and start screeching about double-standards.

  22. megamoze says:

“I didn’t realize “it’s outside the realm of possibility” is any kind of serious rebuke. ”

If I say it’s “outside the realm of possibility” that you have a single principle you actually believe in, isn’t that a pretty harsh (but accurate) assessment.

  23. Tommy says:

Uh Jay, that Cindy Sheehan link is not even quite 5 months old. Cindy’s big moment passed by way before that.

  24. It astounds me that you people can’t just admit it and say, “Yeah, you know what? We’ve gone easy on these people.” Is that so hard?
    Because it isn’t true.

Now, if you said “Oliver, were you stupid enough to believe Bush wasn’t so stupid as to go to war in Iraq” I would have to answer, yes, I was once that stupid.

  25. Jay: “As long as the ‘truthers’ were fingering the Bush administration, I didn’t see any Democrats standing up and saying ‘Go to hell’”

As an organization or as individuals? I’ve seen a lot of Democrats attack the 9/11 Truthers.

The leadership as avoided dealing with them because just being associated with 9/11 Truthers wasn’t worth calling them idiots.

    Zython: “And who’s a liar? That’s right, you’re a liar.”

Jay: “You know what Zython? You should stop hanging with people like CS.”

Jay, you are a liar. That’s been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt.

In this case, your evidence only proves she admitted to being a 9/11 Truther AFTER she lost all standing in the Democratic party. In fact, earlier that month she announced she was contemplating running against Nancy Pelosi for congress:

    http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/HL0705/S00271.htm

So, by this evidence, your claim that the Democrats supported her while she was a truther is a lie.

Jay: “It astounds me that you people can’t just admit it and say, ‘Yeah, you know what? We’ve gone easy on these people.’ Is that so hard?”

Cause it ain’t true. Is that so hard to understand?

  26. “I’d be willing to wager that far fewer liberals believe the 9-11 conspiracy than there are right-wingers who believe that Hilary had Vince Foster killed.”

I’d be willing to wager that far fewer liberals believe the 9-11 conspiracy than there are right-wingers who believe the 9-11 conspiracy.

Remember, the anti-Government militias are all right-wingers. And that’s not mentioning the ones who think the Jews did it.

  27. Graham says:

Now, if you said “Oliver, were you stupid enough to believe Bush wasn’t so stupid as to go to war in Iraq” I would have to answer, yes, I was once that stupid.

Well I wouldn’t go that far. Naive maybe.

I can remember when Bush got “elected”, I was horrified. I kept telling people “he’s evil and he’s dumber than a sack of doorknobs”.

These people would reply “Don’t worry. He’s only a symbol of power. He’s got smart, sensible people surrounding him who are really going to run the show”.

I really wanted to believe them, but I still felt this dread in the pit of my stomach.

Live and learn. Move on and don’t make the same mistake twice.

  28. Zython says:

Since you’re a blithering idiot and obviously cannot employ the use of a search engine, I’ll do the work for your lazy ass for you:

So…what you’re saying is that the burden of proof lies with me to proove YOUR claims? …yeah…good luck with that.

  29. Jay: “Since you’re a blithering idiot and obviously cannot employ the use of a search engine, I’ll do the work for your lazy ass for you:”

Zython: “So…what you’re saying is that the burden of proof lies with me to proove YOUR claims? …yeah…good luck with that.”

Even when he posts a link, half the time it’s wrong.

  30. Jay Tea says:

OK, I see I might have to help out my namesake here. You want mainstream Democrats expressing their opinions on the Truther movement? How about this guest list of the “Fahrenheit 9/11″ premiere?

In addition to (Terry) McAuliffe, other Democrats at the Washington screening included Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle, Iowa Sen. Tom Harkin, Montana Sen. Max Baucus, South Carolina Sen. Ernest Hollings, Michigan Sen. Debbie Stabenow, Florida Sen. Bill Nelson, New York Rep. Charles Rangel, Washington Rep. Jim McDermott, and others. Harkin told the Associated Press that all Americans should see the film. “It’s important for the American people to understand what has gone on before, what led us to this point, and to see it sort of in this unvarnished presentation by Michael Moore.”

    http://www.nationalreview.com/york/york200406240908.asp

If you don’t like NR, go poking around for other coverage of the event. That column popped up on a quick Google search, and had the most complete list I could find on short notice.

Personally, I welcome Bill Clinton to the side that’s calling these assholes assholes. He’s a smidgen tardy, but better late than never. The same goes to the rest of you folks.

    J.

  31. Enlightened Liberal says:

Since JT never saw Fahrenheit 9/11, I guess he thinks that Michael Moore says it was all a Bush conspiracy to take down the towers with a controlled demolition.

What sentient people know if that F 9/11 was about Bush’s links to the bin Laden family and how Bush used 9/11 to deceive the country into war.

Hopefully JT will run on along back to the blog he writes for so that he will be with more appropriate company for him, i.e. morons and dolts. Maybe this time he can take Jay with him.

  32. midderpidge says:

Um, maybe the Vince Foster conspiracy crap was not a good example to use for Jay. He probably believes in that one.

  33. “You want mainstream Democrats expressing their opinions on the Truther movement? How about this guest list of the “Fahrenheit 9/11″ premiere?”

And which of those Democrats expressed opinions about 9/11 Truthers? Because there is nothing in Fahrenheit 9/11 that suggests it was an inside job.

  34. duros62 says:

the collapse of the twin towers looked like a controlled demolition

Yes, on this I will concede. It looked like a controlled demolition because that’s how our human brains work. I saw a cloud yesterday that looked like a frikkin’ unicorn. doesn’t mean it was one.

Do I believe there was a 9/11 conspiracy? Abso-fucking-lutely. Without question. However it was an al-Qaeda conspiracy and not the US government. If the Bush Admin is guilty of anything it is of saying “yeah, yeah, sure” to the exiting Clinton admin.

And Jay? Just lay down, man. And stay down.

  35. OxyCon says:

The Anthrax murders were an inside job, as the anthrax used came from our own military labs.
The main targets of the Anthrax terrorist were “Librul” news agencies and “Librul” government officials.
Funny how we never caught the culprits and our country has suffered a case of mass amnesia concerning it.

  36. “Funny how we never caught the culprits and our country has suffered a case of mass amnesia concerning it.”

It’s also funny how so many right wing ‘tards forget about the Anthrax attacks when they claim there have been no terrorist attacks in the United States since 9/11.

  37. Jay Tea says:

Is it as funny as how the only time you folks bring up the anthrax attacks is to mock right-wingers for not following up on them? Is that their only interest to you?

As far as domestic terrorist attacks since 9/11… let’s not forget the DC snipers and the Sudden Jihad Syndrome — the Pacific Northwest attack on a Jewish community center, the nutcase on the campus with the SUV, and the guy who shot up the El Al booth at LAX on July 4, 2002.

No MAJOR terrorist attacks, no, but there have been terrorist attacks. Nowhere near as many as some feared, thank heavens.

    J.

  38. “Is it as funny as how the only time you folks bring up the anthrax attacks is to mock right-wingers for not following up on them? Is that their only interest to you?”

The fact that someone was killed and no one seems to know who did it or why is bothersome. It should be of interest to you as well.

I don’t bring it up more often cause there’s no point. The case is cold and there’s no new information to discuss.

“No MAJOR terrorist attacks, no, but there have been terrorist attacks. Nowhere near as many as some feared, thank heavens.”

In fact, there have been more terrorist attacks worldwide, both in terms of number of attacks and total deaths, since the War on Terror began than before. Amazing how that works.

As for why there have been no major attacks against the United States since 9/11. That’s a simple question to answer. Al Qaeda hasn’t attacked the United States because the United States is doing exactly what Al Qaeda wants.

  39. midderpidge says:

The anthrax attack keeps giving. This or that was closed when so and so received a letter full with an unidentified white powder. Very effective terror attack I’d say.
