Mel Martinez Jumps Ship

Can’t have a hispanic person running an anti-immigration party, can we? Mel Martinez quits the GOP.

In related news, Howard Dean is still the DNC chairman.

Do you read the articles you link to? No wonder you are a liberal you can’t figure out facts. Stepping down from heading the RNC is not leaving the GOP.

While I doubt the previous poster realizes the irony in a conservative pointing the finger at fact bending, this post does appear to put the cart before the horse. Mel seems pretty darn proud of his party and it’s failures. I’d hardly call that “quitting the GOP”.

But, really, Nick, let’s not break out the laundry list of facts ignored your ilk.

    correction: BY your ilk.

  4. Oh sorry, quits the GOP leadership. Geez.

  5. Now that the hair-splitting is over, how is this going to affect fund raising? The RNC was the only group of the GOP to out raise the Democratic equivalent. (Although to be fair to Howard Dean, I think the RNC was getting a lot of cash from people who didn’t have a presidential candidate they wanted to support in the primaries, which inflated their numbers.)

No Oliver, what he did was step down as head of the RNC.

You really need to make your title entries a little more accurate. For somebody that espouses the virtues of an organization like Media Matters, you shouldn’t be so sloppy even with your own blog.

  7. He didn’t jump ship? But he’s no longer leading the RNC. Aka, he jumped ship. Don’t blame me that you guys can’t read.

If you don’t get your shit together, Jay will stop reading your blog. That would be tragic.

Jay doesn’t “read” this blog. He trolls for tiny errors or spelling mistakes so he can spend his time diverting attention away from his own Torture Party’s responsibility for ruining America’s domestic and foreign policy and global standing to criticize Oliver’s choice of titles for his blog posts.

It’s especially laughable when you note Jay’s own inaccuracies and outright lies, after which he always manages to disappear before having to own up to them.

Exactly, he looks for minor errors, and when he finds none he makes some up, and as soon as you call him on it, he runs. It has happened again and again and it’s amazing people still respond to him.
