That would be the “God Hates Fags” bunch of sickos who see Fred Thompson as the right man for the job.

Is Fred even coherent enough to understand what the hell happened?

  2. Rounds77 says:

This Phelps endorsement is definately a sign from God to take your vote and flee from Thompson so fast that even the four horsemen couldn’t catch up to you.

  3. Jay says:

Oliver, this is two posts now where you have blatantly titled entries falsely. There was no endorsement of Fred Thompson by those idiots. It wasn’t even close to an endorsement.

They wrote the guy a letter.

    Jeebus H. Christ.

Jay, this is one of those “get your own house in order before you criticize others” kind of deal. A couple of inaccurate BLOG titles have your panties all in a wad, while the president you support lies EVERY DAY about Iraq, Iran, torture, foreign policy, domestic policy. And meanwhile you continue to defend and support him and his party.

Yeah, a couple of blog titles. That’s something to get upset about.

  5. megamoze says:

And I knew I couldn’t let this go without pointing out Jay’s own lies.

For example, Jay FALSELY claimed: “There are more African-American males in college than their are in state and federal prisons. Between the ages of 18-24, those in college outnumber those in prison by 4-1.”

The REAL ratio is more like 2.3 to 1. The actual numbers are:

18-24 year old black males in college: 465K
18-24 year old black males in prison: 195K

He ironically goes on to add this: what kills me is that you sit there and get your knickers in a twist about Fred Thompson not knowing about a court ruling in Tennessee

And here Jay is getting HIS knickers in a twist about what Oliver titles his blog entries, while LYING about black males in prison to downplay what is clearly a problem, a problem that Edwards was trying to address. Not to mention the various lies coming out of the Torture Party these days.

And finally: “Mind boggling. Truly mind boggling.”

Yup. Although anyone who can’t figure out the ratio between 465 and 195 is bound to find many things mind-boggling, like electric lights and shiny aluminim foil.

Even though it’s early in the day, I award you the “best reply to a dick stick” citation.
    Good on you.

  7. midderpidge says:

Wow, when the guy was taking their money he loved their stance. Now, he wants nothing to do with them. I guess they aren’t offering him enough.

  8. not Fred Phelps says:

I have read, but not independently verified, that Phelps was originally a populist Democratic activist and candidate in Kansas. Curious.

  9. Quaker in a Basement says:

Jay: “There was no endorsement of Fred Thompson by those idiots. It wasn’t even close to an endorsement.”

The letter: “We know what your position used to be on the homosexual question — and it was wonderful, and we saw eye to eye,” church members said in the letter to Thompson.

Class, here we have the classic logical fallacy known as a red herring.

For example, Jay FALSELY claimed: “There are more African-American males in college than their are in state and federal prisons. Between the ages of 18-24, those in college outnumber those in prison by 4-1.”

The REAL ratio is more like 2.3 to 1. The actual numbers are:

Actually, you need to do better research. In 2005, there were 106,000 black men between the ages of 18-24 in prison. There were 472,000 black men of the same age in college (both full and part time). I got my statistics from USDJ and the Census. You’re using outdated statistics moron.

Yup. Although anyone who can’t figure out the ratio between 465 and 195 is bound to find many things mind-boggling, like electric lights and shiny aluminim foil.

Actually, a person that cannot find recent statistics and then bluster about how smart he is should probably STFU. Have a nice day twit.

The letter: “We know what your position used to be on the homosexual question — and it was wonderful, and we saw eye to eye,” church members said in the letter to Thompson.

I guess in the country called Quakerinabasement that translates to:

“We endorse Fred Thompson for President in 2008.”

Go ahead and guess that if you like. On the other hand, we don’t have to guess what you think. In spite of “your position was wonderful,” you find no sign of approval from Mr. Phelps’ followers.

  12. Mike says:

    NotFred,

Yes, you are correct. Phelps ran for Kansas governor three times as a Democrat and was also very visible as a member of Al Gore’s Kansas team during Gore’s ‘88 run for the presidency.

Which I suppose just goes to prove the old saying, “there’s one in every crowd.”
