There are probably more books out about Bill and Hillary Clinton than there are books on figures like Lincoln or Washington. The problem is, especially the supposedly dirt-digging ones, there’s nothing new under the sun. I’m sure especially if Sen. Clinton is the nominee we’ll get more from the usual suspects. But they’re just such a yawn.
“For Love of Politics,” which The Wall Street Journal obtained in a bookstore not far from the White House ahead of its release date, follows two other much-anticipated biographies of Mrs. Clinton released last summer. “A Woman in Charge,” by Watergate reporter Carl Bernstein, has sold about 57,000 of the reported 275,000 copies that Alfred A. Knopf printed, according to Nielsen BookScan, which tracks about 75% of the book market. “Her Way,” by New York Times reporters Jeff Gerth and Don Van Atta, has sold about 19,000, Nielsen estimates; Little, Brown and Co. reportedly printed 175,000.
Ricard Scaife will probably buy all the unsold copies, driving them up the Best Seller lists, even if they all wind up in a warehouse.
Persoanlly. I want to hear more about Hillary’s boobs, carrot sticks and cackles.
These things have a big impact on my meaningless life.
Say what you want about Hillary Clinton, but she is the one Democratic candidate that cannot be swift-boated. If anything, these “scandals” will only prove to make her more popular, as they did in 2000 in the Senatorial race. All the ad hominem attacks will only make her more sympathetic in the eyes of the sane 76% of voters.
