When Bill Clinton said “the president is still relevant” after his congressional drubbing in 1994, it was something of a cry for help. Ditto for Bush today saying that “I am relevant.” The difference is George W. Bush is in the mid-twenties in approval and has about 15 months to go in his entire presidency.

    The funny thing is, Congress is polling so low because they have not done nearly the job they were expected to do in marginalizing George Bush. If they did a better job of not rolling over and playing dead, they’d be viewed more positively.
