Conservative Gladiator: "You're hoping so anyway, right?"

No. Romney can't win in the South. A large chunk of the conservative base in the South considered Catholicism to be a Satanic cult, they certainly won't vote for a Mormon. Some would rather vote for a southerner like Clinton than Romney, but many would either turn to a third party or just not vote. This would be enough to flip Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, and perhaps some other states. This is more than enough to give the Democrats the White House.

Granted, he does lack name recognition in many
places and this will have an effect, but he won't have the money to really promote himself, especially if he has to go up against Clinton.

I hope not. If he can last till Super Tuesday and win Iowa and New Hampshire, he could win the nomination. However, he'd get his ass kicked by anyone the Democratic party nominated.
