Freddie looked like an Oompa Loompa with all of that orange face paint.
System Crash…rebooting….
Special Ed says Fred won the debate, hands down. It must be true.
At least during the pauses, it’s a respite from the bullshit.
I am with megamoze. It is the times he’s talking that bother me the most. Would somebody – anybody – please call these clowns on their tax cuts = happy economy bull.
tax cuts as policy always seemed inherently paradoxical to me. Taxes were “too high”, so they were cut. Then the economy stalled again, and government revenues fell back further. Solution? More tax cuts. At some point it’s not actually possible to cut taxes further, so then they say, “cut spending”. Well, they don’t actually do much of that, but okay, spending gets cut here and there, and there’s still a problem.
Somebody figures out the government needs revenue. But if tax cuts are anathema, how do you get out of that hole you’ve dug for yourself?
The apparent answer is that you don’t, you just lose the election and pass the buck to the Democrats, so you can run on cutting taxes again.
The recent book The Big Con has a great chapter on how the Laffer Curve nonsense took over the GOP. They used to care about deficits. Now they have nothing but the easy answers of ALL TAX CUTS ALL THE TIME to peddle.
The Laffer Curve is not economics, it’s a cult.
It is aptly named, however. Gotta give ‘em credit for that.
Actually, from the still, I thought I was looking at Max Headroom.
