There’s a possible chance the Patriots will destroy the Redskins in a few weeks, but until then, I’m still a skeptic and a win over the Browns does nothing to convince me otherwise.

Uh, I think I already mentioned this, but the real contest will be against the Cowboys next week. After that game, one of those teams (if not both, depending on how the game goes) is going to be regarded as “legitimate.”

Please don’t pick on the Browns. We have enough problems in Cleveland but to be reminded that our football team has no leadership or offensive line for that matter. We’re involved in yet another stupid quarterback controversy thanks to media hype over Quinn. Please don’t remind me that we lost pitifully to a sadly pathetic team like the Patriots. I can only cry so much here.

And what’s up with the Cowboys? Other than the Giants, they have yet to beat a team with a WIN % better than .500.

You know, last year the Jets and Chargers were playoff teams, and the latter still has the reigning league MVP on their offense. The regression of these teams is not the Pats’ fault, and is surprising to most observers.

Everybody said the Pats were going to be scary going in–which is what will happen when you finally give Brady a receiving corps to work with. There’s a trap game in their future, somewhere, but I think the Dallas game is only going to establish that the Pats have somebody besides Indy who can run at their level. Still doesn’t mean that the Cowboys can beat them.

I agree they haven’t played a good team yet, but the margin of victory is still impressive, (and record-breaking).

Until the play a top-notch team, they haven’t proven themselves. And the longer it takes for them to play a top-notch team, the more Hubris could hurt them when they do.

I think their spreads reflect the 2nd toer opponents, but they seem to be performing well enought to compete with anyone. But you’ll get a clearer picture next week, when they meet Dallas.
