Go, Right Wing “Christians”, Go!

Republicans aren’t acting crazy enough this cycle, says the religious far right:

Alarmed at the chance that the Republican party might pick Rudolph Giuliani as its presidential nominee despite his support for abortion rights, a coalition of influential Christian conservatives is threatening to back a third-party candidate in an attempt to stop him.

The group making the threat, which came together Saturday in Salt Lake City during a break-away gathering during a meeting of the secretive Council for National Policy, includes Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family, who is perhaps the most influential of the group, as well as Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, the direct mail pioneer Richard Viguerie and dozens of other politically-oriented conservative Christians, participants said. Almost everyone present expressed support for a written resolution that “if the Republican Party nominates a pro-abortion candidate we will consider running a third party candidate.”

Of course, one man running for president is already perfect for this group of “Christian” fundamentalists: Alan Keyes.

I actually “9-11″ think that pushing the fundies into third-party no man’s land where they belong would be a step in the right direction for Republicans “9-11″. I’d be more “9-11″ supportive if Giuliani weren’t an actual fascist “9-11″.

That said, I think when it comes down to it, they will pull the lever for the Republican candidate, whoever it is, rather than let a Godlessdemocrat (all one word) take the Oval Office.

Dr. James Dobson should announce he’s running for president with Tony Perkins as his V.P. That would scare the Republicans enough to change their tune.

    Keyes??

No, let them have a candidate who’s not completely batshit insane. Some one who can take, oh say…fifteen percent of the vote?

That ought to be enough to put any Democrat nominee in the White House.
