Only a stupid kid with a dumb parent says school uniforms = Nazi youth. I’m so in favor of school uniforms.

    Fyi Oliver, they’re not just talking about Japanese schoolgirls….

    But actually, I agree with you. I would much prefer school uniforms over the crap the parents are letting their kids dress in, and the crap that Abercrombie & Fitch, etc., are pushing on our kids.

    Maybe you can come over and we can sit on our porch drinking beer and chasing the kids off the lawn.

    I’m not. My kids school has a “dress code” — white shirts and blue pants. Now everyone looks like a Jehovah’s Witness.

    School Administrators need to look for creative, reasonable ways to help balance fashion against learning. Imposing uniforms or dress codes is an easy, zero-tolerance out that in the end, helps neither students nor teachers.

    Actually anyone who compares anything short of genocide and attempted world domination to the Nazis is a freaking idiot.

    The Nazis killed over 6 million people and attempted to conquer the world. Yea, that’s just like making kids wear decent clothes and pay attention in class.

    I dunno, Quaker. I know by eighth grade, I could point out the fascist pigs with the best of them. But really, this reaction is actually dumber than school uniforms.

    the idea is that the uniforms stop the poor kids looking so poor, and it stops the rich ones looking so rich (as well as not being jacked of their clothing). The other thing is it helps provide an identity to be proud of (I go to THIS school). Aren’t Frat houses similar?
    The scouting movement used it’s seemingly bizarre uniform to iron out the differences between classes of children to good effect, as does the armed forces, police etc.

    School uniforms help improve grades while reducing behavior problems. They seem like a great idea to me.

    I agree with the court ruling. I also believe these brats (with their parents) should be sat down and forced to watch films of the concentration camps and the whole Nazi experience lest they dare to compare their experiences with those of the Holocaust victims again. Little shits.

    Shouldn’t Godwin’s Law be used outside the Internets also?
