There have been exactly as many terrorist attacks on American soil by Christians as by Muslims.
Plus all of the abortion center bombings are done by Christians.
I say we have far too many churches in this country.

Politico was more than fair. They show the whole quote, in context, and King’s message is quite clear. Not only are there too many mosques, we’re not doing enough to spy on them to see what they’re planning against America. He gives lip service to civil liberties, but imagine if someone had said this about Christian churches.

UPDATE: On Wednesday, the congressman said: “The quote was taken entirely out of context by Politico. My position in this interview, as it has been for many years, is that too many mosques in this country do not cooperate with law enforcement. Unfortunately, Politico was incapable of making this distinction.”
