    I brought up ACLU defending Rush Limbaugh and the person said is was a clever ruse to hide their hardcore, leftist agenda.

    Well, to be fair to your paranoid friend, since most Republicans wish Craig would just retire and go away, the ACLU helping Craig fight his own guilty plea–and stay in the spotlight while doing so–is just the sort of thing that will drive the GOP nuts.

    The ACLU is an organization that defends civil liberties, not liberals or liberalism. It just so happens that conservatives are more often trying to infringe on those rights, that it gives the impression that the group is hardcore liberal. But these are the same right-wing idiots that claim that Chuck Hagel is liberal because he criticized Bush. Or that news networks that don’t pander to the right-wing agenda are all liberal. To them EVERYTHING they don’t like is liberal.

    Larry Craig will certainly reject help from the likes of such an America hating group. Certainly he has already. He has, hasn’t he? Like rejected their help? And stuff? Hasn’t he?
