If Governor Warner runs for the open senate seat in Virginia next year, he’s practically a lock. +1 Dems already.

    According to Novak, that would make 6 pickups for the Democrats in ’08. Pickups that are virtual locks.

    In addition, there are literally a dozen others that range from too close to call to could be worth putting in some serious cash.

    A lot can happen between then and now, so I’m not going to get excited. The way things have been going the Democrats will win 10 sets- and still be roiled by Joe Liebermann and his Republicans being obstructionist.

    Excited is good, overconfident is bad. But there’s a fine line between those two.

    Excited means more a better candidates to challenge incumbents and open seats. Excited means more donations and a larger voter turnout.
