You know, I don’t pretend that having children doesn’t change your body, but when your claim to fame is your physical appearance (and not your singing ability), is it any wonder that Britney is being pilloried so much for her appearance at the MTV VMA awards?

We will choose to remember the good Britney, much like how an entire generation ignored Vegas Elvis in favor of Young Elvis.

Time to face facts. She wants to be Madonna. She ain’t smart enough.

  2. John says:

I can’t believe you just compared Britney to Elvis. Elvis made music. Britney made crap.

  3. Rounds77 says:

Fall faster, please!! It won’t make a difference. There’ll be more clones like her because the general public likes this mindless junk.

  4. StarkyLuv says:

What has this woman done to make American revel in her “downfall” like this?

I know we as a country LOVE to build someone up only to tear them down, but the unbridled joy mixed with fury with this woman….

  5. Elvis was clearly a talented musician. But towards the end he was INSANE.

  6. OxyCon says:

    I’d still do her.
After a six pack, a tetnus shot, hepatitus vaccine and a triple layer condom.

  7. Rich McAllister says:

At least some of the problem is the outfit, which is just a KMart bra and panties with sequins glued on.

I wouldn’t, just on the chance that Stupid is a STD.

Aw geez, she didn’t look THAT bad. The performance? Brit miscalculated how much/how many it would take to “take the edges off.” That scottish guy on CBS’s late, late show had it right when he announced that he was gonna lay off Brit because she’s battling an illness.

I think the poor girl should be on suicide watch. Especially if she loses custody of her kids.

I’m not going to go after her body, although it was stupid of her or her team to allow her to wear what she wore. She could have been sexy as hell in something like those power suits Madonna wore in “Express Yourself,” for example.

For me the issue is that she looked nervous and bored up there, and could barely ratchet up the energy to properly lip-sync to her own single. She didn’t look like the commanding stage presence she used to be…I’m not a fan of her music, but you look at her old live performances and it was clear she knew how to handle a stage then. She phoned this one in, and it was arguably the one performance in her career where she absolutely needed all of her cylinders firing.

  11. I didn’t watch the video, because honestly I don’t care about this type of crap, but the picture on top is airbrushed and manipulated like hell. The lower pic is an actual picture–and honestly, she doens’t even look bad, she looks like a real person.
