Redskins 1-0

So this is how we’re going to roll this year? Give me a heart attack white knuckle overtime affair in the first game of the season? The first game?
I love the Portis/Betts tandem and while Jason Campbell still has to get his sea legs as a starting QB (he throws too high for his relatively short WR corps), his arm strength can be a lifesaver. Santana Moss didn’t exactly show up while Antwaan Randle-El and Mike Sellers brought it. I have a bad feeling that RT Jon Jansen is going to be out for a while if not the whole season.

I hate football coverage and ‘local rules.’ I’m not a fan of either the Eagles or the Packers, but the end of that game was pretty wild. With 59 seconds left in the game, Green Bay recovered a muffed punt return by Philly. I go to the bathroom and I come back and the Bucs/Seahawks game is on.
Local coverage rules the day and despite the fact that the Packers game could (and did) come down to the last few seconds, they had to switch over to the Bucs game (I’m in FL) which hadn’t even started yet.
Stupid.
Well, I understand what you’re saying. BUT, if I’m a rabid fan of my team I don’t care how close the game is and I want to see the kickoff. I’m also betting the local station wants as the last thing in the world to have their switchboard crashed by irate fans.
The rules I think are screwy are when we here get something like Raiders vs Giants as opposed to the national game that’s way more intriguing simply because we happen to be in NFC East land. It was even worse when the Cards were in the NFC East.

Look at how happy Oliver Willis is after his team won. I’m jealous.
