Conservative blogger, talk show host, and Mitt Romney shill Hugh Hewitt is calling for the resignation of Sen. Larry Craig for his arrest allegedly soliciting gay sex in a men’s bathroom. Yet when Republican Sen. David Vitter was shown to be a customer of prostitution services, Hewitt issued no such call.
The only difference? Craig is teh gay.
Why say ‘alleged’ if the person plead guilty to the charge?
Dude, the “only” difference is that Vitter is in a state with a Democratic governor. Hewitt wants to replace Craig so there’s a better chance in the 2008 election, whereas if Vitter resigns, the seat goes Democrat.
Oliver, like August said, sort of, it’s pragmatism over principal.
It sure couldn’t be hypocrisy could it?
Thanks for changing the font back.
Also, Craig’s state has a Republican governor, which means the appointment of a Republican replacement senator.
No so, Louisiana.
What did Hewitt say about Craig when Craig was outed *before* the election?
