Wishing You Failure, Norv

No ill-will to the San Diego Chargers, but I am wishing nothing but total and absolute failure to the worst coach in Redskins history, Norv Turner.

  1. Well from the San Diego perspective, after Bo went for it on 4th and 4 in the first qt. of a playoff game then lost, it couldn’t get mush worse.

LT is fun to watch anyway.

Good Luck to the Skins, maybe we’ll see ya in the Big Bowl.

I like that line in the article, “There is no great supporting body of evidence for his belief.”
The Post puts its old-school journalistic observation right where it does the most good — on the sports page.

Norval is going to pull a Bellichick on the league. He was looked upon as a puzzlement by Pats fans when he was hired. The Redskins problem is Snyder, not coaches. Oakland’s problem is Davis. How successful has Joe Gibb’s been so far? So far, the Charger playoffs really like Turner and are buying into what he is selling. Good luck in DC, Gibbs will need some.

Turner. Great offensive coordinator, horrible head coach.
It all goes downhill from here for the Chargers.

  5. That would make sense if Norv Turner’s failure had anything to do with Dan Snyder. Norval was losing almost a decade before Snyder bought the team. The difference between Bill Bellecheck and Norv Turner is that Bellecheck understands football. Norv has already failed at two head coaching jobs in spectacular fashion.

Joe Gibbs has three Superbowl rings as head coach. Which is three more than Norv Turner.

  6. Oh, please….I would count ANY coach who did not win the championship/Superbowl while Jourgenson was QB as far worse.

I may be forced to call you out on MY blog…so BOTH of my readers will hear of this. ;)

I’m not saying that Turner didn’t suck (though I think that a lot of the suckage is Snyder), just that there were worse Redskins coaches.

After all, Snyder didn’t leave the Redskins without a first round draft pick for 8 years like George Allen, Jr’s moronic father did.

No Norv is not the worst coach in Skins history. That title would belong to Richie Petitbon, who the announcers during Joe Gibbs Part Un would constantly polish up as deserving of an NFL head coaching job. And I mean constantly.

He gets the job? Instant 3-13. Just add Petitbon.

It’s going to be an interesting season.

Norv will coast on Schottenheimer’s talent for at least a year or two. The question is can he put a defense together, being an offensive-minded coach.

I don’t predict 3-13, they’ll score enough points to win some games. How about 10-6 and a wild card. One and done in the playoffs though.

  9. Oliver says:

The difference is Petitbon was bad for one season. Norv was bad for multiple seasons.

  10. Robster says:

Norv Turner was a horrible pick to replace Schottenheimer in San Diego. The Chargers handed the Broncos the AFC West crown by hiring this joker. Turner’s problem is that he lets the inmates run the asylum.

Normally, I find the distinguished Mr. Willis to be right on the money, but he just blogged about Norv Turner being hired by the Chargers as head coach at San Diego, and he said, “I am wishing nothing but total and absolute failure to the worst coach…

With the number of injuries they already have, the Broncos won’t win the AFC West.

San Diego’s toughest competition will come from Kansas City.
