Bullet Dodged

So my mom’s okay, and her part of Jamaica seems to have weathered the storm relatively well considering. Kingston seems to have been the biggest mess, as it’s the largest population center and took the hardest of the storm’s winds. I was surprised that my mom’s cell phone service stayed so steady – only going out for about 2 hours – and is currently up. The power is still off and probably will be for some time.

    Glad to hear she’s ok. That’s really too bad about Kingston. Looks like the Yucatan may get hit even harder than Jamaica was. I’m supposed to go to Belize in November; sure am glad I’m not there now.
