it’s really hard to believe that Giuliani supports just about all of Bush’s failed policies or attempted policies: he echoes his approach to Iraq, wants a health care plan similar to Bush’s rejected plan, his failed ss plan. What’s with this guy? Does he really think this will get him elected?

Yes. He thinks the American people want a father-figure, an abusive father-figure as president. And when it comes to the Republicans, he’s right. That’s why he’s the leader in the polls despite is liberal-leanings on social issues.
I wasn’t going to vote for him anyway. Not that it matters, politics isn’t about issues anymore and it hasn’t been since Reagan.
