Donald Rumsfeld Looked Old?

This is what qualifies as news for The Washington Post? Look, if he kicks the bucket then that’s news… and I can bust out the champagne.

  1. Dana says:

Why break out the champagne? The man is retired, out of office, and does nothing that harms you in any way.

  2. mambochicken23 says:

Yeah, Oliver, just forget about all the terrible shit Rummy did while he was working for the administration! He’s retired now, so his slate is wiped clean. Long live Rumsfeld! Ha.

  3. That man should be in prison.

  4. Dugger says:

    OW.

That was tasteless and borders on evil. It ranks with Kos’ “screw ‘em.” If you have a shred of class, you will apologize.

  5. SaveFarris says:

If some Freeper made this same post about toasting the upcoming deaths of James Carville or Tom Daschle, you’d have righteous indignation for days. As well you should.

  6. Balakirev says:

But what would his death achieve, Oliver? Put him on trial for crimes against humanity. Keeping him safe until death is simply letting him remain rich and famous, and disavow reality. That’s no revenge, at all.

  7. “… upcoming deaths…”

You know something about Donald Rumsfeld that we don’t? Or are you exaggerating what OW said?

As for Rumsfeld, this is a man who send troops into battle without the equipment needed to keep them safe. And when confronted with this fact, he basically said, “Tough.”

  8. Quaker in a Basement says:

I wish Mr. Rumsfeld a long, long life. He’s gonna need a lot of time to change his ways and make amends.

  9. Why would I possibly wish death on Donald Rumsfeld? Clearly he and James Carville and Tom Daschle are similarly responsible for deaths of thousands of Americans and Iraqis, right?

Hope he dies, hope he rots when he dies, hope he burns on the other side.

  10. sean says:

    to quote the poet:

And I hope that you die
    And your death’ll come soon
    I will follow your casket
    In the pale afternoon
And I’ll watch while you’re lowered
    Down to your deathbed
And I’ll stand o’er your grave
‘Til I’m sure that you’re dead

  11. TucoRamirezTheRat says:

“Let no man pull you so low as to hate him.”

    –Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

  12. Oliver says:

“Dr. King was a much better man than me.”

    – Oliver Willis

  13. Dugger says:

And what you said is morally reprehensible and if the hypocritical leftists who post here had an ounce of integrity, they would call you on it. When an evil pronouncement such as this is greeted with silence by most, it says something about the left.

  14. Oliver says:

Yes, it’s horrible to wish death on Donald Rumsfeld, the man responsible for the loss of thousands of American lives. What a horrible person I am. Boo fucking hoo.

What it says is that we have a moral compass and aren’t filled with excrement like the right.

  15. salvage says:

I don’t wish dead, I want him to live long enough to see the inside of a docket at The Hague.

  16. calling all toasters says:

What salvage said. He can live as long as he wants, in prison.

  17. Dugger says:

“What it says is that we have a moral compass and aren’t filled with excrement like the right.”

    We???

Exactly who else other than you is crowing boastfully that they will celebrate when Rumsfeld is dead?

You have no moral compass. You can’t distinguish between policy differences and ghoulish hate. Remember, you’re the same guy supporting Obama sending men and women into Pakistan? This is the worst thing you’ve said or done since I’ve been here. You should truly be ashamed.

  18. Oh Jesus, shut the fuck up. You’re the guy who said a mother worried about her kid in Iraq should grow a pair. It isn’t just policy, it ain’t just numbers on a blackboard. Donald Rumsfeld is personally – personally – responsible for the deaths of thousands of American servicemen and women and thousands of innocent Iraqi people. DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE. I loathe the fact that he lives a life of luxury fed by right-wing think tanks when he has the blood of thousands on his hands. I would dance on his grave then urinate on it when I’m done for the evil he’s done in this world.

Fuck you, Dugger, and the horse you rode in on.

  19. locus says:

    Wow!
I casually stroll back in here and…
    Wow!

Usually you guys are a little lighter than this.

    I’m with savage and toasters.

  20. “You have no moral compass. You can’t distinguish between policy differences and ghoulish hate.”

Actually, we can. You see, we hate people because of the evil caused by there, ‘policy differences.’

You on the right hate people because they are different.

  21. Dugger says:

“I loathe the fact that he lives a life of luxury fed by right-wing think tanks when he has the blood of thousands on his hands. I would dance on his grave then urinate on it when I’m done for the evil he’s done in this world.”

That speaks for itself. I would ask OW to name one ‘evil’ thing Rumsfeld has done, but I don’t give a damn what he thinks about anything.

Way to absolve the terrorists that actually pulled the trigger / detonated the IED. A sentient person would know that THEY are more responsible than Mr. Rumsfeld.

  23. Jack Larson says:

And if an IED blows up in the desert without anyone around… does it make a sound?

  24. kodos423 says:

    Go OW!

  25. Zython says:

Wait, so our troops were being killed in Iraq before they entered Iraq? The hell?

And Dugger, why do you want Osama to escape scott-free?
