The Mark?

I’ve seen the title of this John Fund hagiography of Karl Rove pop up as he’s announced his resignation, and every time I see it – “The Mark Of Rove” – I can’t help but to think of a famous literary mark.

Temporary setback for the House of Slytherin.
Yeah…but at least Riddle Jr. didn’t cop out halfway through “Order of the Phoenix”, the equivalent of what Rove’s doing.
And just what Death Eater would Dubya be? I say Draco Malfoy. Full of bravado and bluster, but chokes up and pisses his pants when it’s time to deliver.
Yep, very Draco. And of course Voldermort is Cheney.
Cheney can’t be Voldemort. Voldemort had a soul to split up eight ways. Cheney never had a soul.
No, I think Cheney would be Dolores Jane Umbridge. Organization person, stickler for rules, personality something like poisoned honey.
But even Umbridge never laid an Unforgiveable Curse on somebody – and made the VICTIM apologize…
Make that, “…never accidentally laid an Unforgiveable Curse on somebody…”
Yes! Umbridge always struck me as more vile than even Voldemort himself. Voldemort acted in perpetual self-preservation. Umbridge did what she did for fun.
Besides, think of the appropriateness of Cheney/Umbridge inscribing “I will not tell lies” on Harry’s hand — all because Harry told the truth.
And Gonzo would be Cornelius Fudge…
