Today’s crimes from the family values party include rape by the head of the Michigan Young Republicans and a homicide connected via family to right-wing blogger and lunatic Pamela Geller (Atlas Shurgged).

Huh? You mean Pam Asshat… er, Atlas was married to a made member of the Culture of Corruption™?

  2. SpiderJ says:

“Homicide connected via family” is cheap, Oliver, and one wonders why you included it when the Michael Flory item is heinous enough on its own.

Or as it’s known at the RNC, “Thursday.”

Not to mention, Jerome Armstrong was fined $30,000 by the SEC…oh wait, he gets a pass since he’s one of us.

  5. mambochicken23 says:

Yeah, you’re right, Gravypan. Rape = homicide = stock-touting without disclosing one’s financial interest in the company in question.

    Good point.

Besides that, a main point of Oliver’s post is that the Republicans frame themselves as the party of family values, but consistently seem to demonstrate the opposite by fucking children, having gay sex, etc. It’s not just about the crimes, it’s about the stupendous hypocrisy. Nice reading comprehension though, idiot.

Did you read the article? She’s the co-owner of the business now being investigated for its connection to the murder.

Not to mention, Jerome Armstrong was fined $30,000 by the SEC

That happened today? Oh, right, the “but Ted Kennedy!!!!!!!” defense.

August, she’s “listed” as the co-owner. I frankly can’t condemn her based just on that, as I know several people who are guilty of nothing more than procrastinating on paperwork post-divorce (and having it bite them in the ass afterwards).

The Flory thing has legs and meat. Geller’s story just seems like bad circumstance.

Are you kidding?? It has taken way, way, WAY less connection than that for right wingers to insist for years (as Hannity continues to do) that the Clintons had Vince Foster assassinated.

  9. SpiderJ says:

Sure, Rheinhard, I get that. And it’s ridiculous and childish when the right-wingers do that. I understand and support that we need to get down in the muck and wrestle with these idiots, but it doesn’t mean we have to adopt their stupidest impulses.

No, no, there are far better and numerous things to condemn her for.
