Question — when are you going to announce that you are working for the Obama campaign and stop being a closet shill for him?
Same time you crawl outta Michelle Malkin’s butt crack, jeez.
“he would do anything to pursue, apprehend, or kill the perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks.”
… except listen to their phone calls or track their banking records.
Bullshit. He just doesn’t believe that we should rape the constitution in exchange for a right-wing power trip.
Here’s a fun game to play with the Constitution.
It seems there’s a lot of support for the Executive Branch’s ability to circumvent the Fourth Amendment without oversight when it’s “super duper important.”
Why stop at the Fourth?
What say you of the Second Amendment?
Insofar as the United States is at war with an ill-defined, globe-scaling, vague enemy, the federal government can limit your right to a firearm.
Normally, they wouldn’t do it, but we have to take guns away from all United States citizens in order to protect them from terrorism. We don’t want guns in the hands of terrorists.
For the sake of the safety and freedom of our country, you must give up yours.
Test time!
1. The United States should, with due process, be allowed to take away the gun of a suspected terrorist.
[ ] Yes
[ ] No
2. The United States should, with due process, be allowed to search or wiretap the phone of a suspect terrorist.
[ ] Yes
[ ] No
3. The United States should be allowed to take away the gun of an American citizen.
[ ] Yes
[ ] No
4. The Unites States should be allowed to search or wiretap the phone of an American citizen.
[ ] Yes
[ ] No
The answers to this test are not difficult to come by. In fact, the test is almost as easy as getting a FISA warrant.
Oliver, most of your commentary is worth reading (I read this site once every 1 or 2 days), but you’re so deep in the tank for Obama you could be vacuuming the floor.
Unless of course, he starts sounding like one of those uppity atheists you detest so much.
A couple of weeks ago I was accused of being in the tank for HRC. Make up your minds, folks.
If Oliver supports Obma becasue he agrees with his positions whats the problem?
He is a Blogger stating an opinion. Duh that is what he is supposed to do.
The only way it would be an issue is if he were getting paid by the Obama campaign, which I think I am pretty safe in guessing he isn’t.
Oliver’s support of Obama has nothing to do with the issues. And it’s got nothing to do with race, either. It’s because of Obama’s support for Kal-El.
Well duh.
“he would do anything to pursue, apprehend, or kill the perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks.”
“… except listen to their phone calls or track their banking records.”
Fuck you, you liar. He would use FISA to get the appropriate warrants to legally wiretap suspected terrorists.
I remember in the 90s when the Republicans were complaining that FISA handed out warrants too easily. What changed? Oh, I know. There’s a Republican in charge now.
We should have been exerting this kind of pressure and exploring these kinds of options in Pakistan…back in 2002.
If we, by our actions, take active intervention in Western Pakistan off the table while our erstwhile “ally” makes a peace deal with AQ, guess what? They now have a sanctuary….precisely the reason we invaded Afghanistan.
If there’s another big attack in the US during the next president’s term, that president will have to intervene in Pakistan…or face removal from office.
And it would still be Clinton’s fault.
Somehow.
Does “everyone else” include Pakistan itself?
Obama: Uniting our foreign allies … against us.
Right, because Bush has been such a “Uniter”, right farris?
Have some more Freedom fries, there, buddy.
Maybe some Liberty Toast.
