  1. Jay says:

Dude, you brag about Maryland schools. I would stop bragging. Their ability to teach reading comprehension is so awful.

Where in any way, shape or form does that guy call for the assassination of Hillary Clinton? He says “My guns are loaded for the revolt. Are yours?”

Now, if one wants to make fun of some simp who thinks there will be some kind of nationwide revolt if Hillary Clinton were to be elected President (Which she won’t. She would not win a general election), fine.

But to claim the guy is calling for her assassination is just stupidity ramped to a new level for you. I mean, we’re talking atomic levels of stupid on this one.

  2. Enlightened Liberal says:

Funny you want liberals to police their sites while you ignore what is on LGF. Hypocrite much?

  3. Jay says:

Actually I don’t have to ignore LGF as I don’t read it.

Nice try, but don’t try to make this about me when you’re making the nasty remarks.

  4. Enlightened Liberal says:

Do you really want us to go through the nasty remarks you’ve made on this forum? You reap what you sow.

  5. Jay says:

I know I’ve made nasty remarks. I’m no saint and never claimed to be. What I have never done however, is say crap like, “Go beat your wife” or anything else involving somebody’s family members. There’s a line with that kind of shit and you crossed it.

  6. Enlightened Liberal says:

    As J moves goalposts…

  7. Dr. Victor Davis Handjob says:

Jay’s preferred policy has killed a million Iraqis, and two million Iraqi refugees and he’s worried about ‘your momma’ jokes. Go grow a soul, buddy.

  8. SaveFarris says:

Nice try Dr. VDH. But you also have to look at the opportunity cost of leaving Saddam in charge, which would have resulted in EVEN MORE Iraqi deaths.

And what the hell does that have to do with Oliver’s original dumba## post anyway?

  9. locus says:

Save, how do you know that not invading Iraq would have resulted in EVEN MORE Iraqi deaths?

Feel free to cite something a little more concrete than the pure conjecture coming from your ass.

  10. Duros62 says:

have to look at the opportunity cost of leaving Saddam in charge, which would have resulted in EVEN MORE Iraqi deaths.

We didn’t really care about that pre-9/11, why does it matter so much now?

  11. Dugger says:

“Save, how do you know that not invading Iraq would have resulted in EVEN MORE Iraqi deaths? ”

The death rate under Saddam was much higher – by about a factor of 3 to 1 (versus post Saddam).

  12. “Dude, you brag about Maryland schools. I would stop bragging. Their ability to teach reading comprehension is so awful.

Where in any way, shape or form does that guy call for the assassination of Hillary Clinton? He says ‘My guns are loaded for the revolt. Are yours?’”

Shut the fuck up, you asshole. If you can’t read between the lines with that post, you are too fucking stupid to speak publicly.

  13. “The death rate under Saddam was much higher – by about a factor of 3 to 1 (versus post Saddam).”

Only if you ignore the evidence.

  14. Enlightened Liberal says:

Careful CSS, you wouldn’t want to be uncivil. Caruso’s and Dugger’s opinions are highly thought out, reasoned stands based on principle and facts. Oh wait, they’re not. Never mind then.

  15. Dr. Victor Davis Handjob says:

“The death rate under Saddam was much higher – by about a factor of 3 to 1 (versus post Saddam).”

Dugger believes this because he a) lies about the deaths under Saddam, and b) denies the deaths now. Will he ever gain sufficient moral courage to expose his claims to sunlight? Probably not.

  16. mambochicken23 says:

Guys, I think that Jay’s right on this. I don’t think it’s fair to take that quote and blow it up to mean that he’s calling for her assassination. I mean, when I play cards and place a bet, it’s me “firing a bullet.” When I’m prepared to have a verbal confrontation with someone, I “put my boxing gloves on”. There’s nothing to suggest that this poster, mouth-breather though he may be, is seriously condoning Hillary’s murder.

As for Farris and Dugger… gimme a fucking break, you guys. You know what? Over the past 75 years, the country of Germany has been responsible for over 14 million killings. That’s about 187,000 a year over 75 years! Holy shit, let’s invade Germany, start a war and occupation, and only kill about 100,000 people/year! Yes, that will be much better. We Americans, liberators all! Oh, the flowers and balloons, can you see them? Women swooning, babies laughing, dogs and cats snuggling up to one another! It’ll be so great.

Let’s not pay attention to the fact that almost all those murders happened in a decade-long stretch back before my parents were born. Just like you don’t pay attention to the fact that murders under Saddam were much greater in number years and years before our current tryst with Iraq.

Show me some credible evidence that the murder rate over Saddam’s last few years in power was greater than the rate of killing over our few years of occupation, and then maybe I won’t think you guys are complete fucking morons.

  17. Dr. Victor Davis Handjob says:

Mambo, every time it gets to this point in the debate (whether the rate since the war has gone up or down relative to *recent* Iraqi history rather than a absurd 1979-2003 average, or whether their numbers actually hold up to scrutiny) Dugger’s and Farris’s convictions fail them; the most they can muster is to simply repeat their earlier claim. History tells us their courage and intellect will similarly fail them this time.

Here’s a good example of a thread from February where Dugger was asked to put up or shut up. He repeated his claim over and over again, but refused to defend it. Also notice that back then he claimed it was “four-to-one” and that now it’s “three-to-one.” What’s his basis for either claim? Who the fuck knows? His facts begin and end with “FUCK THE LIBERALS!!!”; everything flows from there. He’s sort of the Alberto Gonzales of conserva-trolls.

  18. 25%ER says:

Since we’re talking about extremist death threats on Senator Clinton’s life posted at Billoreilly.com, I just want to say that I really, really cared about all of those dead Iraqis that Saddam Hussein killed with the chemicals and helicopters that Ronald Reagan’s administration gave to him during the 1980s.
That’s why I waited over 20 years to say anything about those deaths.
And it’s also why I wrote posts all over the Internet titled “Nuke Falluja” when those three mercenaries got killed.

  19. Mike says:

    Dr. VDH,

Speaking of dubious statistics, can you verify your broken-record claim that Iraq has exceeded its normal mortality rate by 1,000,000 between 2003 and 2007?

And speaking of 1 million people, remember all those stories claiming that between 500,000 and 1,000,000 children had died in Iraq as a result of the sanctions against Saddam? What ever happened to those findings?

Not that any of this is relevant anyway — Oliver got PWNED by Jay. Only an idiot would think that the comment posted on O’Reilly’s blog advocated assassination. The only thing controversial about the comment was AmericaBlog’s incredibly deceptive use of omission in preparing its own post.

  20. Zython says:

Will he ever gain sufficient moral courage to expose his claims to sunlight? Probably not.

Hell, he doesn’t even have the courage to answer a simple question on the internet.

  21. Dugger says:

Sigh. Have done this many times. First off that bastion of conservative thought, WaPo, has decimated the Lancet study, now along comes Harvard to further discredit it. The British site IBC estimates Iraqi casualties at 74,336 since 2003. Lets round up to 80,000 for coalition troop casualties. With 43 months, thats about 1,860 per month.

Saddam murdered about 600,000 Kurds, Shia, civilians. Another 1M died in the Iran Iraq war he started. Thats 1,600,000 over 24 years or 288 months. That comes out to 5,555 per month for the man leftist human shields tried to protect. Do the math. Deaths under Saddam were about 3 times greater.

  22. Mike says:

Sigh. Dugger, if the WaPo “decimated” a study you supported, you’d claim liberal bias. No one should ever believe anything you say on any subject.

  23. PD100 says:

Ah yes, The Iraq war was always about a smoking mushroom cloud of democracy that we would bring to the Iraqi people.

    -Or something like that..

P.S. Fuck Bill O’Reilly and his fans.

  24. Dr. Victor Davis Handjob says:

“WaPo, has decimated the Lancet study”

    Who? How? Cite, please, Dugger.

“now along comes Harvard to further discredit it”

    How? Where? Cite, please, Dugger.

“The British site IBC estimates Iraqi casualties at 74,336 since 2003.”

No, it does not. It tallies casualties REPORTED IN ENGLISH-LANGUAGE ONLY. IBC makes no attempt and is in no way qualified to “estimate Iraqi casualties” whatsoever. As IBC concedes on its website: “”It is likely that many if not most civilian casualties will go unreported by the media.”

Here are some more Iraqi death rate estimates, Dugger:

    Pre-invasion: 5.5 deaths/1,000/year

    March 2003-April 2004: 7.5 deaths/1,000/year

    May 2004-May 2005: 10.9 deaths/1,000/year

    June 2005-June 2006: 19.8 deaths/1,000/year

    Overall post-invasion: 13.2 deaths/1,000/year

  25. Dr. Victor Davis Handjob says:

Mike, I will happiily respond to your question, and happily discuss anyone’s specific problems with the Lancet study in general. A million is a ballpark figure, but it’s based on the Lancet’s March 2003-July 2006 mid-range estimate of 650,000 deaths, then tacking on another 200,000 for July 2006-July 2007. Maybe it’s only 800,000. Maybe it’s 1.1 million. I’m just trying to give a sense of the enormous evil Bush’s war has unleashed on that country rather than hide from it.

  26. Quaker in a Basement says:

That comes out to 5,555 per month for the man leftist human shields tried to protect.

The human shields went to protect one man? Must’ve been really crowded at ol’ Chez Saddam.

Save that japery for Happy Hour, willya?

  27. Dr. Victor Davis Handjob says:

I wonder if Dugger’s seen the ethnic cleansing map of Baghdad?

    http://www.iraqslogger.com/index.php/post/3703/Patterns_of_Sectarian_Violence_in_Baghdad

  28. Dr. Victor Davis Handjob says:

Here is an introductory list of things Dugger doesn’t want you to think about:

    1) He begs you not to focus on the fact that the past 15 years in Iraq have been relatively calm.

    2) Dugger pleads with you not to think about what the mortality rate in Iraq would have been if we had not invaded.

    3) He doesn’t want you to actually think about whether passively surveilling a country’s English-language newspapers is the best way to estimate the death toll.

    4) He really doesn’t want you to use the standard he used for Saddam on Bush (as in, Saddam “killed” every Iraqi who died in the war he started) because that would mean Bush has “killed” more Americans than Osama bin Laden.

  29. mambochicken23 says:

Way to ignore my point, Dugger. You’re a champion of conservative thought. Good for you. I’m gonna go throw up now.

  30. Duros62 says:

Dugger would also like us to believe that 43 months is equal to 288 months.

  31. Wellstone says:

Dugger also wants us desperately to believe that the politicized Military under Cheney and RUmsfeld who brought us Jessica Lynch, Pat Tillman, White Phosphorus used on civilians in Falludjah, Haditha, and Abu Ghraib has any interest whatsoever in allowing ANY. let alone an accurate count of dead Iraqis.

We. Simply. DO. NOT. COUNT. Dead. Iraqis!

See, that would hurt our war effort almost as much as allowing photos or tape of dead soldiers, body bags, or caskets being flown into the US.

  32. Dugger says:

Hey Mike. You are a fool. If I, a conservative, had used a conservative reference re deaths in Iraq, it would be dismissed out of hand on this site as conservative bias. When you develop more confidence, you will give up trying to triangulate.

  33. Dr. Victor Davis Handjob says:

    No, Dugger.

The reason we “dismiss you out of hand,” Dugger, is because you won’t back up your own claims, and you don’t respond to any criticism.

In short, you refuse to argue in good faith. This is why you are treated like a joke: because you do not behave with any dignity. At the very least, it’s instructional about American conservatives, so I welcome your presence on that count.

  34. mambochicken23 says:

It’s official. I think you guys (Dugger, Farris) are complete fucking morons.
