You turd-stains screw up everything that is good.
A Boise State University running back who scored the winning points in the Fiesta Bowl, then proposed to his cheerleader girlfriend on national television, has hired security for his weekend wedding because of racial threats, a newspaper reported Tuesday.
Ian Johnson, who is black, and his fiance, Chrissy Popadics, who is white, are due to be married Saturday in Boise.

ahh, so that swirling noise i hear every time i visit ISN’T the boise river, but the sound of a giant toilet backing up?
quelle suprise………..
Well, he did break the hearts of the entire state of Oklahoma with his Fiesta Bowl performance. That’s not exactly a state renowed for its progressive stance on interracial relationships. He’s probably getting a lot of death threats written in crayon on Denny’s napkins.
I think it would be better to have more details on this before you jump the gun on this as OW has.
Dugger, I wouldn’t say OW jumped the gun on this one. He called out the people making threats as racists. That’s right.
It’s a host of jackasses that will be trying to attach a political angle to it.
Yes, let’s wait for the burning cross and the lynching before we make too much noise about racists. Dugger, you’re such an idiot.
Oliver, good to see you read Deadspin.
Dugger – you’ve got to be kidding me. What, no one is making racist death threats because the couple is interracial? That’s how oliver jumped the gun?
Give us a break.
Jay,
Not really. The nature of the threats have not been specified ( I would not be surprised if some were racist, but we really don’t know) and there have been other cases where charges have been falsified. After Duke, I want to be sure.
Yes, 1/1,000,000 cases was really bad, so automatically we’re going to pretend racism doesn’t exist anymore.
Which is not what he said at all, but whatever.
I will now steal blatently from one of the Deadspin comments:
After Duke, I want to be sure.
After Duke, I want to be sure to remember that while they found no proof of assault, it was clear that those saintly boys had taunted the women they hired to entertain them with racial slurs …
Excellent point OW!
“Yes, 1/1,000,000 cases was really bad, so automatically we’re going to pretend racism doesn’t exist anymore”
With 20-20 hindsight I wish I had said something like, quote:
“I would not be surprised if some were racist, but we really don’t know”
Just goes to show you don’t have to be from the south to be a racist.
Here’s wishing a long and happy wedded life to Ian and Chrissy.

Sports Illustrated article describes them as racial threats

“About the racial slurs. There was only one confirmed racial slur from a lacrosse player, from a player that was not one of the three accused, as a retaliation from a racial comment from Kim Roberts in a racially heated argument started by her. That’s it…”
