This is the tactic: the rightwing will pretend Thompson was hired as a lawyer to provide legal advice.

The reality is very much different: Thompson was paid as a lobbyist and, in this capacity, he wasn’t providing legal advice. He was paid to provide access and to advocate a certain agenda.

Dugger has already conceded that Clinton was not lying when he said that. Dugger thinks he might have been lying, but can’t get in his head to know for sure.

Actually, we Libs are VERY scared with regard to Fred Thompson.

We are very scared he will chicken out and not run.

Cons seem to be getting behind the idea he is the second coming of Ronald Reagan, their icon and hero.

BUt there’s one BIG difference, aside from the huge differences between them as politicains and as men: Ronald Reagan only had to beat Jimmy Carter, a kind Christian soul, with not a mean bone in his bubba-the-peanut-farmer body.

Nightmare-on-K-Street Freddy Thompson will have to beat Hillary Clinton AND the easy access to information provided by the Web AND a big money disadvantage.

The left throws ‘lied’ around so much the meaning is dumbed down to misstatements, omissions, and a failed crystal ball.

It doesn’t have quite that meaning on the right. Lying requires a willful throwing your finger at the camera “I did not have sex with that woman” kind of deliberateness.

Even if there is proof that Thompson had hundreds of advocacy hours on this issue his Senate record stands in the way of that doing serious damage.

People are allowed to change positions on issues during the course of a life time. The evidence of Thompson’s Senate record indicates a strong Pro-Life position. He did not vote for abortion before he voted against it.

And the right does see this as a sign the left is small-minded, petty, ignorant, and scared. Nice to know the ’scared’ part doesn’t bother you.

“All we have” is that he’s a liar. And before he even announces (which he’s avoiding doing to keep getting those Hollywood paychecks). Do you not get dinner that night if you think impure of Leader?
