I get a kick out of people who mock Thompson as “just some actor” pissing and moaning about his supposed “free publicity” because of repeat episodes of ‘Law & Order.’
What is Thompson doing that any other politician hasn’t done? They work within the rules and bend them as far as they can without breaking them. Even if they have been found to have violated a campaign finance law, the ‘punishment’ is most often a fine of some sort that then gets deposited into some general fund to be used by other candidates.
