    FINALLY.

Of course, it would’ve been swell if they’d done this last week on the Webb Amendment — you know, something that actually had a chance of PASSING — but this is a start, and hopefully a sign of things to come.

  2. Dr. Victor Davis Handjob says:

Good for Reid! Put the Cons on the record. Make the GOP shut down the Senate to keep this pointless, failed war going. We’ll see how the public feels about their Republican Senators then…

  3. Squirrel says:

Uh oh. Dugger won’t approve of this at all. Allegiance and obediance at any cost!!!

How long before Reid pulls out the Nuclear Option?

  5. teflon_tim says:

The “Nuclear Option” isn’t the point here. If Reid wanted to go that route I’m sure he would try. No, the reason this is such a good idea is that it forces the Repubs to actually make a case. It’s easy for people to sound principled when all they spout are “Support-the-troops” sound bites. But when they actually have to talk for more than a few minutes we see just how thin their rationale really is.

  6. SaveFarris says:

Or they could just read verbaitim from Michael Yon’s blog. That’d probably take up some time.

From the looks of it though, Sen. Reid’s stunt may not need those cots after all. What a wonderful tactician the Senator

You say that like it’s a bad thing.

  8. Mouse says:

I’m waiting to hear from all the right-wingers about the benefits of an up and down vote and the unconstitutionality of filibustering and how wrong that is. After all, that is what they were blathering about when they were the majority, was it not?

  9. Duros62 says:

    From Farris’ link:

Right now, there are only 50 working Democratic Senators (Tim Johnson D, S.D. hasn’t cast a vote yet this year),

Because he’s still in the hospital, you prick!

    Typical.
