Once again this morning we as a nation were subjected to the Bush administration defecating on us again. Bear in mind that the report released today is a White House document, and as we know this White House routinely blatantly lies in its materials to the point of absurdity. This is, I’m sure, the rosiest scenario about Iraq they could have possibly squeezed out:
The report said that despite progress on some fronts by the government of Nouri al-Maliki, "the security situation in Iraq remains complex and extremely challenging," the "economic picture is uneven" and political reconciliation is lagging.
The war has failed. There is no strategy. This was an unnecessary yet winnable conflict, but thanks to the president’s failure to lead and the legions of incompetents he has appointed to run our government, we have lost the Iraq War.
He doesn’t care, because he’s a lame duck. He won’t be impeached because we’re too close to the election, but he will go out of office as one of the worst presidents ever, on who’s watch thousands of American lives – civilian and military – were needlessly ended. He will not change strategy, appeals to reason with an idiot will fall on deaf ears. The only hope we have before the 2008 election is for the congress to pass legislation to have a timeline to end the war. Any bill that passes without a timeline is an endorsement of Bush’s failed leadership and will further implicate the Democratic leadership in the bloodshed.
One of the darkest hours in American history was the day George W. Bush became this nation’s president.
I don’t think it could be said any plainer, Oliver. George Bush pushed for this war and he lost it all on his own.
Anyone of you jackasses crying ‘defeatist’ to advance some kind of stab in the back defense of Bush need to explain where and how Bush has had his hands tied in prosecuting this war up until this very day.
Everything he has asked for he has gotten. Every plan he wanted to execute has been executed. And yet here we are in the middle of an unfolding disaster.
George Bush lost the war in Iraq (and Afghanistan for that matter as al qaeda now seems right back where it was six years ago). Way to go guys.
While GWB is no doubt responsible for the sorry state of the war in Iraq, some of the blame has to fall back on the constituency as well. This is a democracy after all and only in an era of intense cynicism and superficiality could an illiterate loser like GWB become the most powerful man on Earth.
“When it comes to the failed Iraqi war and occupation, myself and all the thousands of inexperienced right wing ideologues I hired are 100% blameless”.
He squandered our efforts in Afghanistan, too. Al Qaeda’s as strong as it was in 2001. Bush has lost two wars for this country. And the Glenn Reynolds right has cheered him on the entire time.
During that brief time when we could have little jpegs attached to our names here at oliverwillis.com, mine was a picture of Bush waving with “I LOST IRAQ” superimposed. I miss those days.
OW, Bush has at last proven you wrong. He’s not a “crap stain” of a president.
He and his administration are the whole fucking, fetid cesspool.
Any y’all see this little gem?

Bush admits administration leaked CIA name
Duros62 | Jul 12, 2007 6:24:05 PM.
Like I said, cesspool. “Can…you…DIG IT?!”
Duros, Richard Armitage’s involvement has long been known. It’s just that folks on your side didn’t care.
Hey Bueller, you know how Richard Armitage found out about Valerie Plame?
He found out because he read the INR memo which Bush and Cheney ordered up as part of their conspiracy to destroy Joe Wilson by out his CIA covert wife.
Got that?
If Bush and Cheney never ordered the State Department to dig up dirt on Joe Wilson, Richard Amitage would have never have ever heard of Valerie Plame.
Armitage was a complete stooge in this crime.
Scooter Libby on the other hand was ordered by Cheney to leak Valerie Plame’s identity to numerous media sources as a direct result of the INR document and Rove was also involved in the leak.
Find your meds oxy and then things will get better.
Dugger put down the Scotch bottle and is typing shorter sentences. Helps reduce the spelling mistakes!

Oh, but we do care. We care that Bush said he would fire whomever did it, and Armitage (and others) still has his/their job, right?
Uh… no.
On an unrelated note, since Oliver finds these times so dark, here’s a little news to brigten up his day. Whatever I can do to help, my friend…
I expect that’s good. Whatever.
I stand corrected. Now I care that he hasn’t been charged.
Here’s another link for conservatives to laugh off. Keep fiddling, Cons! It’s everyone’s fault but Bush’s!

You want to go to the stock market? Really?
Well, Doc, think how much stronger al Qaeda would be had we not invaded a sovereign nation that had nothing but animosity for them.
Uh….yeah.
