My real problem with people like Vitter is the implied suggestion that you can’t be a moral person if you aren’t a member of the church of jesustology and that if you are a member, that somehow makes you a moral person. If we could just get past those two incredible fallacies, I think I’d be a little more forgiving.

My other question is why Oliver hasn’t picked up the story about our former surgeon general who has made yet another claim of beig muzzled by this administration. Surely it’s a more important (if not more sensational) story than most of what’s been reported in the news this week…

If Vitter was a Democrat, this would be a career boost. He’d probably have Bill Clinton out campaigning for him. And the “ACTION ALERT”s from the MoveOn.org gang, promising full support for the Senator and relentless persecution of those who published the story, would already be piling up in the email boxes of the party faithful.
