(Well...okay, I voted McCain in '04. In my defense, that was back when he was best known as the guy who was saying how great it would be if we didn't torture people. And he got something like 80% of the vote, so I didn't exactly swing the election in his favor.) I know we're a minority, but I think we're growing. Hell, I'm a registered Democrat, but that was just so I could throw my vote away on Kucinich in the '04 primary. (Kerry was a shoo-in by that point anyway, so my primary vote was useless. Just like pretty much every vote I've ever cast for any office higher than the House.) In fact, this should be one of the biggest stories of this election cycle. CNN, MSNBC, and FOX should all be reporting that independents are more aligned with Democrats that Republicans on almost every issue out there. If the Democrats win the White House, (as well as make gains in the Senate and the House of Representatives), this will be the leading cause. This should be a bigger story.
