Fred Thompson Lobbied In Favor Of Abortion Rights
Tweet
The best and brightest the Republican party has to offer?
Fred D. Thompson, who is campaigning for president as an antiabortion Republican, accepted an assignment from a family-planning group to lobby the first Bush White House to ease a controversial abortion restriction, according to a 1991 document and several people familiar with the matter.
A spokesman for the former Tennessee senator denied that Thompson did the lobbying work. But the minutes of a 1991 board meeting of the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Assn. say that the group hired Thompson that year.
Is Hollywood actor Fred Thompson going to beat Mitt Romney for flip flops here? Romney flip flops for political advantage, but it looks like Fred Thompson flip flopped on abortion in exchange for cold hard cash.

He’s denying he did do lobbying for this group, but I can’t pick which side to believe.
I’ve read that there’s no paper trail for the lobbying, which hurts their case. On the other hand, from what I’ve read, Fred Thompson doesn’t seem like the kind of person who would put his morals ahead of money.
Fred Thompson is a liar and a fraud. No sale on Fred the abotion lobbyist.
What are the four main Republican candidates?
Romney- wants to play every side of every issue.
Thompson- advocated every side of every issue for money.
McCain- wants to sell out every position he ever took for votes
Guilliani- more interested in making money than serving the country.
That makes Guilliani and Thompson the likely primary winners. Sellouts over flipfloppers.

Hopefully it’s Thompson as he polls worse against the Democrats in nearly ever scenario.
He was for choice before he was against it. So what? Probably was just acting like he was a lobbyist for hire.
