Feingold: A New Democratic Party
"Sanford D. Horwitt writes in this timely, compelling independent
biography that Russ Feingold "represents the progressive side of the
Democratic divide more clearly and authentically than any successful
politician on the national stage." The third-term senator’s willingness
to take bold stands — he was the first in the Senate to call for a
timetable for redeploying U.S. troops from Iraq — has inspired a
growing number of rank-and-file Democrats across the country."
Should be an interesting read.

I think Feingold is a principled guy. There ain’t that many of them in Congress.
Name ONE principled Republican.
With that kind of comment, Wellstone, you’re either a punk kid, classless jerk or an idiot. Take your pick.
I also Bernie Sanders is principled.
I’m a punk classless idiot kid jerk, Dugger. Got more pejoratives? I’ll own up. Although maybe “kid” is stretching it a bit. I DID own a Vietnam draft birthday lottery number. Does immature count?
I also notice you couldn’t name one. (I can’t think of one either).
Wellstone. I didn’t try to name any Rs. I am an R and naturally I would think there are a few principled Rs. Been here a lot longer than you and am known as an R and conservative here. I then feel like it means a little more for me to cite a couple of principled Ds – if you see what I’m saying
It actually says something about your thought processes and range of human experience if you think there are no principled Rs – in Congress or otherwise. I would say one day you will grow up, but you may be old as me. Oh well.
No, Dugger, I think the R’s have been put through a Stalin-style ideological purge and systematic brainwashing to inculcate party values in the best totalitarian tradition..
Under the leadership of Gingrich, Santorum, DeLay, and others, men who valued party ideology above all and had no problem with achieving domination by all means neceaasry, I believe the GOP today is a party where principles have nothing to do with its policies and its politics.
That is their legacy, that is their history, that is the reason why Dems beat them so badly in ’06.
People noticed.
And thanks for leaving open the chance that maybe someday I’ll grow up. It gives me great hope. .
Funny that the three politicians Wellstone accuses of leading a “Stalin-like idealogical purge” are … no longer in office.
Are you intentionally being Ironic?
Duh.
They may no longer be in office, but the “K-street lobbyist” model (meaning mutually lucrative, incestuous corporatist relationships), the “constructionist judge” (meaning stuff the legislative branch with wingnuts), and the unholy coalition they forged between wingnuts, racists, and the evangelical Right, as I said their legacy lives on.
The only reason these men are out of office is indictment in the case of DeLay, public ethics censure and scumbaggery by Gingrich, and raging wingnuttery beyond the pale in the case of Santorum.
Not because they lost the respect and adoration of the remaining GOP scumbags in Congress.
Wellstone,
I’m glad I’ve given you hope but please be aware that with your future passage into adulthood come three newfound responsibilities: intelligence, emotional stability, open mindedness and self reliance. Four, four responsibilities among which are…..
And I’m sorry that that unreasonable Mr SaveFarris gave you a hard time merely because you ventured an opinion about the Stalinist GOP leadership and picked as examples, three members of the GOP not in leadership positions. Uhh, maybe you meant Bruce Stalin.
