Obama's fundraising is very impressive, but he needs to look out for the Klinton "Goon Squad" that will do anything and everything to win.

"The authoritarian in them will happily vote for whoever they are told to vote for, and they will lose no sleep over it."

Yep. And it helps that Rudy is a right-wing authoritarian to begin with. He's a political bully who cares more about getting his way, (and getting credit), than doing the right thing. Unfortunately, that seems to be a selling point for the Republicans.

The Democratic party has to hope three things happen:

1.) Bloomberg enters the race as he steals more support from Giuliani than Clinton. (The same is not true of Giuliani vs. Obama, by the way.)

2.) The Religious Right go through with their threats to derail his campaign. Here Thompson is the obvious heir.

3.) 9/11 starts to lose its effectiveness with voters. Simple psychology says it will, but I think the media will keep it afloat longer.

I agree with your assessment, C.S., but don't be too sure about cons throwing off Giuliani.

One thing the right can do very, VERY well, it's ignore the sins of their leaders. The authoritarian in them will happily vote for whoever they are told to vote for, and they will lose no sleep over it.

So long as the ebil dimmocruds don't win, justice will have been served.

"People better start taking Obama seriously because the Democrats' opponent is gonna be Giuliani and I doubt Hillary's gonna win against him. "

Hillary can beat Giuliani. Hillary can beat every Republican.

Obama can beat (nearly) every Republican as well, as can Edwards.

It depends on if Bloomberg enters the race. If he does, it splits the Anti vote.

If it is Giuliani and Clinton, the anti vote is the same and Clinton wins.

If it is Giuliani and Obama, the anti vote is anti-Giuliani and Bloomberg steals enough from Obama that Giuliani wins.

The same is true of Fred Thompson, but to a lesser degree. Clinton wins relatively easily, Obama struggles.

Granted, once we know who the contenders are, the campaigns will switch gears and Giuliani has a lot of negative baggage that most conservatives don't know about and that could scuttle his chances.

People better start taking Obama seriously because the Democrats' opponent is gonna be Giuliani and I doubt Hillary's gonna win against him. Those swing Republicans and Independents (and middle/right Dems) AND THE YOUNG if somebody can get them to actually vote, all like Obama better than Hillary. His fundraising is an indication. WHy is the press ignoring this?

The national headlines and Obama's website should read:

<b>"Obama out raises Guiliani and Romney combined by $1.5 million dollars!!!"</b>

CNN had, 'Giuliani Leads '08 Fund Raising.' Or something to that effect.

Further proof that the Democrats biggest threat this cycle isn't from the GOP but from the media.

<i>The Republicans are pacing themselves. Democrats are going to be burned out way before the Republican voters start paying attention.</i>

This guy is a Yankee fan isnt he ...let me guess the Yankees are pacing themselves too right....come on this is a least the third straight quarter the Repubs have been outraised...its not going to get any better as long as the Guiliani's and Romney's of the world continue to hang themselves with the policies and world view of one GWB.

And they think Fred Thompson's gonna save them.

I don't see "Salvation via Skeletor," but stranger things have happened.
