The National Pariah

If George W. Bush wasn’t such an evil bloodthirsty s.o.b. excuse of a failed crap-stain president, I would almost feel sorry for the guy reading this profile of him groping for the reason why he’s so roundly hated (by comparison he now makes Richard Nixon, a president almost as corrupt, look good).

But he is all those things, so I don’t feel sorry for him.

WTF is wrong with the 27% that think he’s doing a good job? I guess at least 18% of the population is crazy.

  2. Didn’t Dave Barry once say either major party could nominate a cabbage for president and still get 25% of the vote?

    Seems he was right.

  3. Diamond LeGrande says:

Bob Harris has a list of crazy things to which a significant percent of the population will agree.

    Around 27%, we can see:

30% say the Bible is the “actual word of God” to be taken literally
29% think people will be “more likely” to afford college for their kids in 2020
28% disapprove of labor unions on principle
28% say the government should have the right to control news reports
27% believe divorce is “morally wrong”
26% thought various disasters in 1999 might “foreshadow the wrath of God”
26% think grade-school teachers should be allowed to spank their kids

Goofy stuff, but not entirely out there. Well, the 1999 disasters bit is pretty looney. But this is stuff in the same range as “Bush is doing a good job.”

  4. Duder says:

Nixon was genuinely shrewd, inqisitive, calculating, who rose from releatively humble means to the Presidency. Bush, Jr. is a willfully incurious dumbass who’s coasted on his pedigree for his entire life. Both are indeed loathsome, but Bush demonstrably more so.

  5. Repack Rider says:

Time for recess and kickball. Then nap time.

When you are done with those important activities, do return and rejoin the adults, and perhaps you will learn something.

  6. White Whale says:

I wouldn’t feel sorry for Bush. He is a narcissist of a the highest order. I mean Katrina, Iraq and not finding Osama Bin Laden or just a few things that prove he only cares about himself and the outside world is not going to partake in his life.

  7. Kettle says:

    Are you kidding me?

Just what makes you think that George Bush has been running anything anyway? With Cheney’s hand all the way up his ass and controls what he has of a brain, why would you be surpised that this idiot has to ask others to explain why he is so despised.

    Lawdy, Lawdy, help us all.

  8. Duros62 says:

Good thing (for him) he doesn’t give a shit what people think.

  9. z adura says:

George Bush may say he doesn’t care what people think but it is quite evident from the article that he does. The tragedy is that he hasn’t shown the leadership skills to acknowledge his errors and take corrective action.

  10. Nimrod Gently says:

Bush cares what people think about . It really upsets him when they’re so completely wrong about everything he does. They just don’t understand that he’s the good guy and nothing he does is bad.

  11. MrGreyGhost says:

From ’02 to ’04, liberals tried to ram their “Hate Bush” agenda into the White House and look what it got them: 4 more years of George W. Bush. Judging from Mr. Willis’ “thoughtful” analysis here, it’s good to see how much the Left has learned in the last 2 1/2 years. Any wonder why a guy who hasnt even officially declared his run for Presidency is running neck-to-neck with Hillary in national polls?

  12. Oliver says:

They tried to run their “Hate Bush” agenda by capitulating at every turn to the right. Yes, that clearly worked out well. Then when they actually stood up to him they happened to win an election. Fancy how that works.

  13. Dr. Victor Davis Handjob (formerly Dr. Anatole Gavage-Huskanoy) says:

No, trolls, Iraq is what’s going to determine the next election. And it will be in the Democrat’s favor. Fred Thompson would be lucky to get 130 electoral votes from Hillary.

  14. Duder says:

Good thing (for him) he doesn’t give a shit what people think.

Yeah, right, he doesn’t care what others think. That explains his hand-picked, fawning audiences.

  15. “Agreed. The Left’s nastiness and negativity will continue to cost them elections.”

    Like in ’06?

  16. Dugger says:

Bush, a weak candidate and as inarticulate as carter and LBJ, wins two terms. Yeah, I think more hate is what the left needs.

  17. Duros62 says:

No, I don’t think we need more “hate.” You’re right, it has a habit of backfiring. More pointing & laughing and ridicule is more like it.
