Letter From Donna Edwards

Here in Maryland we’re strongly blue, and as such there’s nothing wrong with an internal fight to get a good Democrat in over a bad one. I met Donna Edwards last week and Maryland will be better off to have her in congress.

Free State Politics has a letter up from Donna Edwards about her need to raise some serious money to knock Republicoid Al Wynn back into writing real estate deeds for a living.
For those outside the district, Maryland is blue, no doubt, but this district in question is bluer than Papa Smurf choking to death on a sapphire necklace. If there’s a Hell, David Duke and Strom Thurmond will each serve his time in Hell in Maryland’s 4th District, probably as a nanny for a black lesbian couple with four kids, or maybe scrubbing toilets in a vegetarian co-op. It borders the District of Columbia is essentially as blue as the District, maybe more so on a few issues. About 1/3 of the 4th is represented at the State level by either of two openly lesbian Delegates in Maryland’s House. It should elect a member of the House Progressive Caucus; it’s bluer than Barney Frank’s district.
Truest words in the whole letter:
It’s not enough to elect Democrats, we need to elect leaders.
Amen
