How many other presidential candidates will be given free airtime to puff up their own campaigns the way ABC has with Hollywood actor Fred Thompson?

Aren’t there, like, I dunno, what are those things called…laws against this sort of thing?
You would think there would be laws, but for every law regarding politics, there’s a loophole.
Fred Thompson isn’t officially a presidential candidate yet, so the law doesn’t apply.
I think.
You are correct C.S. Thompson’s gig with ABC goes back with his days of filling in for Paul Harvey. He quit Law and Order because they have to plan out story lines and filming way in advance. Thompson can end his ABC gig as soon as he officially declares. Until then, he is on the correct side of the laws.
