		<description>Hm. The American military, undermanned and under-equipped in a hostile foreign country, is forced to ally themselves with former enemies who have recently switched sides for their own ends.

Sounds a lot like that other country. What's it called? I coulda sworn we had a war against terrorists going on there.

		<description>This is what happenw whe you politicize a war as utterly as this one has been politicized:

Political results are WAYYYY more important than military, strategic, or tactical ones.

The US Military is under such  extreme pressure from the Preznit and the OOP to "For GOD's sake give us some positive news to take to the folks" that they are willing to trade short-term, "right-now" fixes for long-term "do-it-right" solutions.

Dunno if it's the 24-hr news cycle, if it's FOX, if it's the White House, if it's the GOP in Congress.

But it's not good, and we will pay dearly for it in the end.
