Well, one way for people to find out that there are different kinds of black voices is to read a range of black blogs. Sorry, but your comment looked to me like “Hey, look at me, I’m not like the others!” grandstanding.

I believe that you may have misunderstood the point of the diary. At dKos there is a very large repesentation of white progessives who want you to believe that they are open to all people unlike conversatives. But I see dKos struggling to show it, especially the black point of view. Whether or not you chose to believe it, the black vote is important in this country. I have seen black racial issues debated on dKos and its clear that there is a lack of understanding missing in the debate. Its like someone else trying to explain your point of view without asking you what it is. What I took from the diary was Steve asking others to visit “various” black blogs to gain a better understanding about our views on different issues. He listed a wide range of blogs to support so that one would understand that not all blacks think alike. Just as we all have lived very different lives. From my personal experiences not only do some whites think we look the same but that we think along the same lines. Why do they believe that Sharpton & Jackson speak for all black people and when you state otherwise they seem confused.
Finally, I come here because I like your point of view but also because you are black. I make an effort to read many black blogs that I find interesting, to show my support. I do the same thing when I shop. They are stores near me that are cheaper to shop at but I will drive further away to support a black owned store. Its just the way I am…..so don’t be offended!!
