The people of NOLA were prepared, as prepared as they could be considering the budget cuts the – oops – federal Government made to their levee repairs. It was on the Daily Show, for christ’s sake: “they weren’t predicting the breach of the levees so much as resigned to it.”

There are loads of sources that show how much money was diverted away from levee projects and instead used for development projects and other nonsense.
